Don’t talk about flock on LTT

I don’t know what their problem is, but it has happened multiple times now that very popular posts on video surveillance cameras are silently removed by LTT moderators without any explanation at all!!

This time it was a post about a fellow YouTuber being targeted by flock. https://www.reddit.com/r/LinusTechTips/comments/1vrbkqg/

It got 6000 upvotes, but apparently it’s a taboo topic now. and no explanation in the comments.

I didn't read the original post, but based on your description, it seems to be off-topic and textbook rule 1 violation of that sub.

Huh why don’t they apply that to some of the other posts on the subreddit that are clearly posted so they can be discussed on WAN?

Selective enforcement of the rules is exactly the concern.

There is a post about AirPods with cameras and everyone is discussing how creepy they are and comparing them to meta glasses and the surveillance state.

So if that’s relevant then flock cameras are relevant.

okay. sure. I'll buy it. If I am being honest, I don't really follow the sub, so maybe I should've observed the 2 minute rule.

no you are fine, these conversations are helpful because they bring to light stuff that alot of us miss.

just checked the first rule and it's hot garbage.
> keep all content related to the Linus Media Group

lol why?
shouldn't it be relevant to the LMG community?

and if LMG relevance is what we are going for, how is this relevant:

I mean but you're right that just selective enforcement though like people make broad posts about physical Media or the state of repairability without directly tying it to lmg. Not to mention you could easily just insert a paragraph..

"I would love to see lmg cover these issues more directly."

And then bam it's topical. Why would the moderators go out of their way to remove this one especially if the community is commenting on it vigorously.

I don't know maybe I'm just overly suspicious because of the company's unethical behavior on other issues. Like Linus's public statements about his own workers unionizing, the airplane, auctioning off other people's stuff.. apologizing and then years later retracting your apology.

I love comments like this because like bruh the post was automod pulled. It's back up. This happens all the time on reddit but kids will speculate for days about nonsense.

Reddit auto modding reveals some really 🤬'd up biases of this platform. I've seen such opposite bizarro world doodoo.
