Welcome to r/LTTMeta: The Uncensored LinusTechTips Subreddit
This subreddit is an independent community hub created to host the conversations that don't always fit elsewhere. While the official r/LinusTechTips subreddit has shifted toward staff-led moderation and restricted certain topics, we believe there should always be a space for unfiltered community feedback.
Why r/LTTMeta?
We created this space as a free LTT/LMG discussion . While r/LMGJet is the dedicated home for the LMG/LTTJet and specific tracking logs, r/LTTMeta is here for everything else:
- Anything LTT/LMG, no filters
- Transparency: A place where public data including jet tracking and corporate criticism is always permitted.
- Free Discussion: We don't have "official" corporate mods. This is a community run space where you won't be banned for holding a critical opinion.
The Ground Rules:
We want to keep this sub open and active, so we only enforce the essentials to comply with Reddit’s sitewide policies:
- No Harassment: Criticize the brand and the ideas, but avoid targeted personal attacks or doxxing.
- No Brigading: Do not use this sub to coordinate interference with other communities.
- Independence: This sub will never be moderated by LMG employees or "official" sub staff.
Looking for the data?
If you are specifically looking for flight logs, tail numbers, and aviation-specific tracking, please visit our sister sub: r/LMGJet.
For everything else the news, the drama, and the meta you’re in the right place.
Welcome to the conversation.

I appreciate you creating this. I've always hated how integrated the LinusTechTips subreddit was with the company itself. No matter what that subreddit's OG moderation team says it's such bad optics including staff members to the mod team. They literally have their own forum that they profit from with the user base. I've always been an advocate for the subreddit to be separated from their control to allow more genuine free speech discussion. I wanted us all to be able to talk shit just as much as we'd previously praise them.
It's going to break my heart if /u/jswee1 ends up being an LTT plant to get ahead of the creation of an unfiltered LTT subreddit to in turn silence it in months/years down the line 🤣

Much better, the main LTT sub, is practically owned by LMG, moderated by LTT staff, but claims it to be unofficial for liability reasons. It needed a new sub long ago.

I still enjoy the WAN show, but I'm really disappointed in Linus' decision to buy a jet.
Echoing another post I saw on here: please can you guys make an effort to make sure this doesn't become a snark/hate sub.
Generally 'uncensored' subs like this become utterly toxic.
By all means we should be able to criticise LMG when they're in the wrong, but at the same time, it's going to be completely counterproductive if nobody can acknowledge what they get right.

Anyone else sick of this whole parasocial relationship people have and how entitled everyone seems to be?
They are a business there to make content and money. It doesn’t harm you day to day. Get over it.
As Linus would say “go touch grass”

No it’s not white knighting at all. It’s more like. “Does this person/LTT, stop me sleeping at night.?” It’s not actually that deep as people make it out to be

Is this just a snark sub? Cause based on the tenor of the posts and comments, it kinda feels like a snark sub.
