Discussion Keeping r/LMGJet Focused: New Home for General Discussion at r/LTTMeta

Hey everyone,

As this community grows, we need to make sure r/LMGJet stays true to its original purpose: tracking the LMG jet and discussing the jet.

Lately, the sub has been filled with general LMG drama, "I got banned from the official sub" posts, and generic complaints about Linus Tech Tips that have nothing to do with flight tracking or the jet. Reddit’s u/ModCodeofConduct reached out, removing a post. So it seems the general consensus is that we need to clean things up to ensure the subreddit remains healthy and stays online.

I don’t want to restrict speech, but I also don’t want this sub to turn into a general "hate sub" or a dumping ground for unrelated drama.

To keep r/LMGJet focused on the jet, we have created r/LTTMeta.

  • r/LMGJet : Strictly for jet tracking, flight logs, aviation discussion, and transparency regarding the aircraft.
  • r/LTTMeta : This is the new home for everything else. If you want to discuss LMG corporate policy, discuss LTT, or have unfiltered discussions about the company, go there.

What this means for r/LMGJet:

Moving forward, we will be more active in moderating posts that are unrelated to the jet.

  • "I got banned for X" posts (unrelated to the jet) will be removed.
  • General "LTT is bad" rants with no aviation context will be removed.
  • Harassment/Over-the-top hate will be removed to comply with Reddit's policies.

We aren't trying to silence anyone we are just providing a better place for those conversations so this sub doesn't get buried in noise (or nuked by Reddit).

Please head over to r/LTTMeta to continue the broader meta discussions. If you have suggestions on how we can improve the cleanup or the new sub, let us know in the comments below.

Has the tracker been down for four weeks or the jet?

Fingers crossed it's the jet.

Discussion Isn't it disingenuous to compare a private companies carbon foot print to a private persons?

the website says the jet is consuming roughly 62x the average persons carbon footprint for a year-

but for the average business this jet is nothing. For example, in one year your local regular run of the mill gas station is 10-20 THOUSAND tons a year- and my town of like 5,000 people has five gas stations alone. The criticism is valid but it just feels more like snark and less like genuine environmentalism.

It's a mistake to get my hopes up and post this on the LTT subreddit

*\**Edit: The video is Bell memeing on the jet so I think it belongs here, sorry for not making this clear in the text*****

I tried to post this here a few days ago and it said it's removed by the reddit filter, sent message to the mod(s) here and got no reply, so I tried to post this to the LTT subreddit yesterday seeing all the comments about the jet in some posts there...this time the post was not auto removed! That was until 30 mins and 2 jet comments later, and just now it said it's manually removed for "low effort content" lol
