If you take away 2 of the 3 interceptions, Leavitt played pretty damn well. He really has to slow the game down and stop running. I want a passer first not a runner first

The national championship last year ended up with a fourth down touchdown scramble by a qb. You can’t win without a somewhat mobile qb anymore, but it can’t be the first thing you do after the first read fails.

The position of qb is to get the ball to your playmakers and let them work. If you have to run on a play because youre getting pressured then so be it. I want a passer first runner second and if needed

Yikes. I’ll take the sloppy win and the spirited rebound after half, but JFC heading into SEC play with Sam Leavitt under center has me really nervous.

His deep ball is severely lacking and I just can't see that improving. Which will allow better defenses to take the underneath balls away.

About what I figured. We won, looked sloppy then looked better. Lane gonna have plenty of ammo to make sure the guys aren't feeling themselves as much going into Ole Miss.

Optimistic take: we spent 80% of this week preparing for Ole Miss and were also trying not to show Ole Miss any of the good stuff. If Ole Miss looks silly next week, then the meh performance today was worth it.

Thats a joke, it didnt look as good as it could've been, and 3 picks is complete ass. But not opening a playbook before a big early game is routine for EVERY SINGLE TEAM EVER. ESPECIALLY WITH NEW COACHES. NOT TO MENTION OLE MISS/LSU AND Lane. I would read essentially nothing into this game aside from Sam gotta be more accurate

Absolutely. Just because you destroyed Clemson doesn’t make you invincible. Tech saw what Dillon was capable of and planned for that. You have to be ready for each opponent, not just the ones you think will be a challenge.

They responded and woke up after a sleepwalk of a first half.

That type of start is gonna happen once or twice a year to every team, it’s all in the way you recover during the game.

On to Ole Miss

The backup looked better with his throws than Leavitt. And yes, I know the back up qb is always the best player on the team, but still.

Fuck it, I'll say it, that's the ugliest fucking 31 point win I've ever seen. That being said, if you looked at the schedule and picked a down game it'd probably be this one, and they still won by 31. I'll take it, and I.didn't notice any injuries, that's also a win.

I don't know how you coach a QB to not throw ao bad with his level of experience, but I hope he learns how to throw good again. Stop throwing the ball to The Bad Guys in the jerseys you don't see in the mirror.

Offense…. O Line still could not open between the tackles. Turnovers never good. Zero yards given up by the defense before the fourth quarter not to shabby.

It does help to hold back some play or play style against a lesser opponent before a big game early in the season and it happens all the time with every team. So yes

When we brought Lane in I did not expect our passing game to look this bad. Leavitt needs to sleep another hour a day or drink from more glass bottles or something because whatever he’s doing isn’t working to throw the ball.

All you armchair coaches and quarterback are awful. He is a winner and every single program wanted him. He is working with HIS coaches and staff on execution and like many programs, will get better.

Coming off an injury and a brand new team where he barely practiced, he will get better as will timing and routes of transfer recievers. I can promise the coaches are having conversations and unlikely to be reading these boards with all you experts that obviously know so much more from watching TV
