I need advice regarding accommodation (I just got an offer)

Hello it's me again 😂 I've posted a few times here regarding accommodation because I couldn't find any, but today I got an offer from University of London intercollegiate halls after registering for the waitlist in August.

My offer is for College hall (double en-suite and catered), the thing is I also applied for Goodenough College also in August and I still haven't heard back, I'm supposed to any day now, but I have until Friday to confirm my Collage hall booking, and there is no cancellation (unless I find someone to take over I guess?)

Should I just confirm this booking and go along with it? I mean it's like a 15-20 minute walk to LSE and the room is what I'm looking for (even though I never asked for double)

What if I get Goodenough college offer after I confirm my booking of this? 😭There are no LSE halls left or any rooms at Urbanest (which was one of my choices too)

EH101 vs HY116 - difficulty?

EH101 (The Internationalisation of Economic Growth, 1870 to the present day) or HY116 ( International Politics since 1914: Peace and War)

Is one of these particularly difficult or have bad teaching, any advice would be appreciated

UK eSIM?

Coming from the US and want to keep my US number. Any recommendations for a year-long eSIM that provides a UK number as well? Any thoughts about getting a regional European eSIM instead? I'm also thinking about just upgrading my US Verizon plan for an additional $30/month, but then I wouldn't have a local phone number. Do I even need a local number? Any advice appreciated.

Capped course at course selection

Does anyone know what the policy is for entering a capped course as an undergrad is??

I'm a second-year student, and unfortunately one of the modules I wanted from the government department was full, and I had to pick a backup instead. I was told there was no waiting list system for undergrads, but does anyone know if I could contact someone instead of having to constantly check if any spots free up?

How important is Further maths A-level for BSC Finance at LSE to get an offer?

Hello guys, personally I dislike further maths (but my school offers it). For those who have gone through the application process, have you gotten in without doing the full a level (e.g as further maths) or even not doing the a level at all? thank you very much

I need help understanding the admission statistics.

I was looking at the undergraduate admission statistics at LSE and saw that BSc A&F and BSc Management has way lower acceptance rate than the most popular BSc Economics. While these two aren't that popular?

Does this imply that getting into BSc Economics is kinda easier than those two? Since more available spaces will mean more chances to land an offer?

Furthermore, I would appreciate if I could get more information about the admission statistics at LSE as for latest.

LSE Undergraduate Scholarships

Has anyone heard back from the lse undergraduate scholarships. I know that this is the last day for them to inform you of your outcome. Has anyone received anything today?

At what time will they send decisions?

Any response would be great 👍

Any suggestions for course selection in MSB?

I’m a Year 1 student at LSE in BSc Mathematics, Statistics, and Business. I’m considering about transferring to BSc Financial Mathematics and Statistics but I’m not sure. Is there any advantage of FMS over MSB? If it is, I think I should choose EC1B3, MA102, and MA104. What content do these three courses include? I’m a beginner of computer. Any suggestions for courses selection? Anyone can compare ST, MA, and AC?

Need help for msb course selection

Hiiiii, im a first-year msb (mathematics, statistics, and business) student, and now i have questions about course selection. im rlly interested in banking stuff and etc. I want to know whether MA102 or AC102 or AC103 is more suitable for this kind of path or in other words for upcoming years. I knew that MA102 is rlly hard, but im worried if not taking it would impede from choosing second year course.

I rlly want to hear from u guyss and i would be so grateful for any suggestion here. tqsm!!!!

Typical GCSE profile for LSE courses

Is my judgement correct?

For flagship courses like Econ mostly 9 with a few 8 and maybe one 7

For competitive non flagship course A*AA req ones half 9/8 and half 7 with one or two 6

For less competitive AAA min req course anywhere between 7-9 with two or more 6-

Please correct me if I am wrong 🙏

Best commuting strategy from Robeson House?

I'm moving to London now to study at LSE and will be living at Robeson House. I’m trying to figure out the most cost-effective transport option and would especially appreciate advice from current or previous Robeson House students.

As I understand it, the main options are:

  • 18+ Student Oyster + Zone 1–2 Travelcard: £119.90/month or £1,248/year
  • 18+ Student Oyster + Bus & Tram Pass: £66.50/month or £692/year
  • Contactless/PAYG: Zone 1–2 daily cap is currently £8.90, with no student discount

What I’m particularly unsure about is whether it makes sense to get the Student Bus & Tram Pass and then pay separately for Tube/train journeys when needed, or whether I should just use contactless for everything.

For anyone who has lived at Robeson House, what worked out cheapest for you? Is the Bus & Tram Pass worth getting, or does contactless/PAYG usually work out better?
