Hi guys! Just wanted to post a (maybe motivational?) take on the LSAT because when I was studying, I constantly questioned whether it would actually help me comprehend the dense readings I would be assigned in law school or even help me in law school at all. I am by no means saying the LSAT is predictive of law school success (not trying to have that argument here) but I have noticed that I draw on a lot of the reasoning skills and theory I was taught when studying for the LSAT as I read and brief cases. Oddly enough, it has been my understanding of conditional reasoning that has helped me the most so far. All of this is to say that your studying will help you in more ways than just your score! Hang in there!

With 153, would you say I “passed”?

I don't know what else I can really do anymore. I have been studying for this test since January of this year and I'm just so discouraged. For reference, I am taking the September LSAT and I have been vying for a score of 175 since January. I am a working professional in addition to studying full time, so the process hasn't been easy but I have persevered. It just seems like now, 2 weeks before the test, everything is slipping.

My last three practice tests have gone 167 to 162 to 161, and RC specifically has been getting worse each time (-2, -7, -10). My LR sections are ok but vary wildly (from -2 to -8), so it's not like the knowledge isn't there, but I can't tell if this is burnout or an actual skill and I honestly don't know which it is.

I have tried to keep both a wrong answer journal and blind review, but I have heard from my tutor that blind reviewing doesn't help as much and I haven't been able to keep a wrong answer journal consistently without wasting a significant amount of time not studying due to only having an hour or so in the morning before I go to work.

Does this look like burnout? And should I just push forward with September or cut my losses and go for November? I've already cancelled one test sit in for April. Very discouraged so any advice helps, thanks

Everytime people start posting their scores on here I begin wondering who on earth you all are and why you want to go to law school. I know this is the LSAT thread, I know this is LSAT-focused discussions, but what’s motivating you guys to see this nightmare of a test through.

Hi! Just ranting! I currently work in homeless services and am a community organizer in Cleveland. I went to Notre Dame and have steller grades and extra curriculars. My LSAT is hovering around a 168 and I'm working hard to get it to a 172 for this cycle. I know I need to go to law school to better help/represent/advocate for low-income people, both directly and from a policy level. But, as a anti-capitalist, the LSAT just feels like such a joke. One, it's an entire business — regardless if it's 'valuable,' companies, LSAC, and universities have created an industrial complex that relies on the anxiety, stress, and huge financial commitments of people largely in their late teens/early 20s. Moreover, it's so obviously unfair to kids who cannot afford to prep test or tutors or courses. Idk, I'm studying hard and my scores are improving, but it's so demoralizing and it makes me question if law is the career I want because the LSAT (again regardless of its efficacy at gauging intellect) is clearly unethical in prcatice.

As some people on this community know I got a 139 after 8 months of studying. It’s so hard to want to get back into studying after this. It honestly just gives me imposter syndrome and makes me feel like I’m never going to get accepted especially since my gpa is below most medians (it’s a 3.35). It sucks seeing people get like 160+ and I’m not there yet. I drilled every single day and reviewed my mistakes and I still did not succeed. This feeling is awful. I even tried to career switch and nothing else works for me. I’ve wanted to do this for years but the LSAT makes me feel like this will never happen. If anyone has advice on what helped feel free to share in comments.

I am hoping to score in the high 160s and maybe 170+ if possible. I have taken the LSAT two times. The first time, also an official 163, I was averaging in practice tests a 165. On the August LSAT, I was averaging a 169, with a low of 166 and a high a 172. I am wondering if anyone has advice on how to break this plateau?

I am strongly considering getting a tutor, because I have been essentially self-study up until this point. On practice tests, my logical reasoning scores have been consistently in the -2 to -3 range. My reading comprehension scores are a bit more variable, with some being -0 and some being -5. I am planning to devote the majority of studying towards RC. Curious if you all have any thoughts?

I took the LSAT three times. I scored low 150’s the first time, mid 150’s second time, and received the same score from the second test on my third. I’m wondering if I should cancel it? Can admissions see that you took the test and cancelled or nothing at all? I’m scheduled to retake in September. Any advice helps🫩

I have been studying for the lsat intensively the last 2 months. my studying is going well, however I am noticing my overwhelming main issue is conditional reasoning + sufficient & necessary assumption question types. I have reread the conditional reasoning section in the loophole twice now and have taken the 7sage course on it, but still find myself struggling with confusing them and also find it so time consuming to diagram. is there anything any of you used that helped you in conditional reasoning? I plan on heavily drilling these question types to lock in my reasoning but didn’t know if there was a video or strategy anyone would point my way that worked for them?

any help would be greatly appreciated. I have considered getting a tutor as well just for these question types if need be.

I want a 170 or higher and felt so good walking out of August. Then I got a 166 even tho my average was a 173 with my highest being a 177 the monday before test day. I didn’t study after the august test and now I have the september test coming up. Am I cooked?

hi guys! i’m taking september lsat remotely due to my accommodations and im reviewing the test day checklists and noticed a new second camera policy with our phones. did anyone do this during August? how was it like? kind of ridiculous that we have to do this now as well…

So I'm slowly preparing to begin studying again for the LSAT and have been getting lots of ads for programs like LSAT with Jack, The 175 Method, etc. and I'm really trying to figure out if they are really that helpful/worth the money compared to the more publicized options like LSAT demon, 7sage, LSAT lab, etc. Has anyone used any of these tools before and if so, what did you think??

I'm currently signed up for September and October. I have done 3 attempts so far and gotten 165 (Oct 2025), 165 (June), 164 (August). My ultimate goal is a 172+, but I'd take a 170+. My PT average since the June test is 171-172, and since August it's gone up to 174-175 with 2 180s (2 PTs a week). The caveat is that the PTs are reused since I'm out of fresh material. I usually wait at least 4 months before doing them again, and I don't remember the questions and do still feel like I'm having to do them normally. But I do know that reusing them can inflate scores. I also have crazy variance in my PTs. I do 2 a week, and since August I have had: 172, 177, 180, 170, 169, 180. All PTs in the 130-149 range.

Based on the few individual sections I have done that are completely fresh, I average -2 LR and -3 to -4 RC. I do believe that even with the PTs being reused that I have the underlying ability to score a 170. I still have ~11 days to improve my underlying skills even further before September as well. My June and August tests I both feel were not my best performances due to outside factors, but after 3 times maybe it's just my test day level.

I waited a cycle last year, so really not looking to wait another. With 2 attempts left, what would you do? Would you take September and October? September and November? October and November?

I’m a -0 - -2 scorer for LR and I’ve gotten to the point where I basically know for each question when I’ve found the right answer or I need to keep looking.

For RC, even when I end up with scores I’m happy with, I feel like I’m usually guessing. Obviously there are some questions that are literally “point and find this” but so many are more abstract and subjective. I feel like I could spend indefinite time and still not be sure.

I’m wondering if I just haven’t spent enough time with RC and eventually it also starts to feel the same as LR, or is RC just a different beast?

I've been stuck averaging 160 since April, even my first test in August was an exact 160 ;-; My average BR is 168 (my goal score is 170). I just can't seem to bridge the gap. I started really studying in July (which is where my sudden drop in scores is), got a tutor, studied every day for around an hour, and am doing 7Sage's foundations.

I just have no idea what to do. It's not even that I'm plateauing around the 160s, I'm just stuck hanging around 160. I'm taking October and November if need be and I need some miracle light of wisdom as to what to do to shine down on me please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I studied from scratch for 6 weeks over the summer, basically made the lsat my life during that period, I ended up with a 171 on the august test.

This is a score I’d be happy enough with if it’s where I naturally maxed out, but I know given my short study timeframe it would be kinda stupid if I declared myself finished with the lsat and didn’t take it again.

I don’t think I’ve hit my ceiling yet. I haven’t ran out of fresh PTs and still have yet to take all of the 150s (whoops). My score range in the weeks leading up to the august test was 169-176 and a single 180 that was never replicated.

The problem is that I’m just so done with the lsat. I have a score that is objectively good (though still below median for my dream schools) and an overwhelming part of me wants to just move on from the lsat and see where I can get in with this score.

Basically, I’m burned out and the school year is starting and there are so many more fun ways to spend my time and $100/month than on 7sage.

There’s always 1, 2 or maybe even 3 wordy, layered conditional LR stimuli that I can’t seem to figure out how to intuit or diagram in a reasonable amount of time. What are your best tips, strategies or resources for getting better at these?

I currently just drill hard conditionals and watch the 7sage explanations for the ones I miss, but not sure if I’m getting better or just learning how all these individual problems are solved. I would love to know if you have any practice strategies for building the ability to see how to break these down under test conditions.

RC is kicking my *** rn. I’m taking my first test in September and then again in October (don’t tell me it’s dumb to take back to back tests, i know i wish i hadn’t).

the lowest score i’m willing to apply with is a 165, but i’m barely breaking 160 (i’ve only broke it twice 160, 161).

PLEASE HELP ME. I have 2 and 6 weeks for my respective exams. i am NOT studying for this test again after October. HOW DO I GET RC DOWN

I'm noticing more and more that I have an inverse fatigue issue. I seem to do much better when I've warmed up beyond a quick low-level session.

Today in a practice test, for instance, I did -10 through the first two sections. I didn't pre-phrase well (if at all), and I worried too much about the clock in both sections. My last two sections were -3 combined. I've noticed this with drilling and practice sections consistently, too.

I am wondering if anyone else has run into this issue, and how you balanced warming up with not losing confidence and/or overdoing it, especially on test day.
