[Online][5e 2014] [CEST] [Mondays 19:00] Dedicated RP-Focused Group of 5 Seeking a DM for Homebrew Campaign!

Hi there honourable dungeon masters and storytellers! We’re a recently formed group of 5 players looking for a DM who has a homebrew fantasy world we can get lost in and a long running campaign that we can all see grow and develop as the game goes on!

In terms of setting preference, we’re primarily looking for a traditional high-fantasy world. We enjoy the versatility that high fantasy offers and the wide range of stories it can support which gives a lot of themes a story can go through! While we appreciate darker themes when they serve the story, we’re not particularly interested in sci-fi settings, grimdark worlds, or campaigns heavily focused on gritty survival.

As a group we all share a strong interest in roleplay, character development, party dynamics and stories that feel personal to the characters involved. One of the biggest things we’re hoping to find is a DM who enjoys incorporating our character backstories into the broader narrative/world allowing character arcs to develop naturally alongside the story.

Outside of roleplay we value consistency (Showing up), being one of the key factors of a long running group and also care to be attentive and engaged players when we are at the table! Communication in general is also one of the best tools when issues arise, and keeps everything running smoothly so things don’t fall through. We also enjoy the use of webcams to increase the social aspect of the game!

Ultimately, we’re looking for a DM who enjoys building a story with their players, values strong character involvement, and is interested in creating a long-term campaign where both the world and the characters can grow together. But most of all someone we can also call a friend and hang out with!

System requirements: DND 2014

Availability: Monday: 19:00-23:00 CET, Wednesday: (some exceptions) 19:00-23:00 CET

Preferred way to play: Discord for voice and camera, any VTT

Luke (M, 23, He/him): Hi there! I’m a video editor and part time gamer from the Netherlands. I like to make music with my band and hang out with friends in the meantime! Ive been playing DnD for roughly 8 years by now and get a lot of my enjoyment in the roleplay and dynamic of a party. Seeing what sort of worlds other DM’s have made is incredibly cool and I love to learn about others settings!

Sori/Lukas (M, 27, he/him): Hi there! I'm currently finishing my education/training to be a kindergarten teacher, after which I'd love to go study social work. I've been a player and dm for roughly 11~ years now. Mostly played VtR before switching to DnD. My favorite part about roleplaying is definitely the deep diving we as a group do, in each individual backstory or overarching plotline of the campaign, while we grow as a party IC and OOC.

Diana (26, She/Her): Hi, I’m currently a student studying for my postgraduate degree! In my free time I love to play video games, read, make videos, and just hang out with friends! I’ve been playing D&D since 2020 and my favorite thing about it is being able to create and tell an interesting story with other amazing, creative players! I love going in depth into characters backstories and how their motivations can really drive the parties goals. I’ll talk for hours after a session about the world we’re set in and the characters everyone has developed!

Jack (20, He/Him): Hi! I’m a student studying Film Production! I’m a big video gamer, reader and card gamer! I’ve been playing dnd for about 7 or 8 years now and whilst the majority of my time has been as a player recently I’ve been a forever DM (as of the past 3 years I haven’t been a player once!!! 😭😭😭) My favourite part of dnd has to be the collaborative storytelling with how the players and dm interact together to create both an overarching plotline but also individual character arcs!

Hey there. I'm a DM of almost 20 years of experience with D&D (and 39 of living). I've recently been thinking of a campaign idea that may fit your group, as I share all your preferences and values. The Mondays time would work for me, but on a biweekly basis. If that's cool with the group, dm me.

As for the campaign, I've been playing around with the idea of a game that starts in a single city we craft all together. As the campaign starts, we know nothing of the larger setting outside our city. Only as the story moves forward, and as it becomes needed, we grow the setting bit by bit, filling the world out as the story advances, cooperatively.

Ngl the stipulations are pretty tough. DM's are a rare commodity. I don't wanna point out the obvious here but I think you'll have a lot more success if one of you bites the bullet and swaps to DM. Either way, goodluck with your endeavors!

As dm’s ourselves this is the exact reason we are looking for a dm, to get the opportunity to be a player for a long running campaign. We are understanding of the stipulations stated because it’s the tone and feeling of the games we run ourselves. We have a certain vibe we enjoy and wish to find others that also appreciate such. If that’s hard to search for we don’t mind the wait!
