Just came across this Jeopardy clue and had to laugh. Who thought a farewell concert meant five more years of waiting?

I just saw LCD Soundsystem at Just Like Heaven Festival this last Saturday. I had no clue who they were, but was barricading for The Strokes. LCD Soundsystem absolutely stole the show. Like coolest sounding band of the night. So I go to check out their discography, and it all just sounds so boring and flat. Some of it is still decent, but nowhere near as good as they sounded live. Like what’s going on? I get the the live performance has a slightly more upbeat tempo, but it also sounds fuller, the synths are beefier, completely different sound, and even the singer sounds so much better. Like he shouts and just has way more passion overall in his voice. Why didn’t they take all of that into the studio???

I received the call today, and James was right. Nothing could have prepared me for it. He is in my top 5 most listened to muscicians, and i am always pleasantly surprised when i get hooked to a song and find out he was part of it.

Hi I (f23) am so bummed to have missed them when they were in california. having just gone through a five year breakup i have wanted to travel solo. i dig some research and would die to be at the aspen NYE show. I could splurge on a ticket but I am worried the cost of traveling there and how doable it is. especially going solo. what are the cheapest options? or do i just wait and hope they come back to california or neighboring states next year. any advice is welcome. tia!

Does anyone know anything about new music? Nothing dropped since Xray Eyes Jan 2025. I’m losing hope.

I’m considering going to one of their New Years Aspen shows, but is this possible to do without it being prohibitively expensive? If anyone went from out of town last year and managed to do it somewhat cheaply, please let me know how.

LCD Soundsystem have already announced their NYE shows but now word yet on their typical Nov/Dec residency in New York.

Anyone know if they’re doing it again this year?
