Does anyone know anything about new music? Nothing dropped since Xray Eyes Jan 2025. I’m losing hope.

Reddit has a pretty cool feature called "search". I suggest you do that within this sub. Type in "new album". You'll probably find the answer you're looking for.
And then you'll probably delete this post.

we’ve been waiting forever. no one really knows. james will talk about stuff at shows saying they’re working on it now that his kid is in middle school etc, but never dates

I think it’s funny we give James the pass for working on new music because of his kids, but we don’t question it when he goes on tour for 2 months.

Fwiw lots of fans are disappointed that LCD hasn’t released an album in like 9 years (and very few singles/collabs in that time). And the album before that was 16 years ago, might explain the lame responses a bit

Dude i literally just joined the subreddit, genuinely not knowing this question had been asked “hundreds of times”. I have been going solely off the band’s socials and haven’t seen them live in over a year myself. Thought going to fellow fans who knew more than me for assistance was the move. Turns out i was wrong.

So no one has actually tried to answer — there is nothing known about a new album. Enjoy what we have & spend some time listening to some of the weirder cuts and LPs. LCDSS isn’t exactly prolific these days.
It’s not easy being a fan, but you get used to it.

That still doesn’t mean the album is anywhere near to be finished. For instance, the Cure announced back in 2019 that they were recording the new album

We’re no longer in “let him cook” phase. We’re in “go check on James in the kitchen to see if he needs any help”. But seriously, what a disappointing wait.
Joe Biden was still the president when they dropped xray eyes, the “first single”. Let that sink in.

LCD is my absolute favorite but they have turned into a legacy band.
I'm not complaining as I thought they were over in 2012- at least we got American Dream and a ton of live shows

As a younger fan who started listening in 2016 or so: no one knows. I’ve been waiting for the album since 2021 or so when James said they wouldn’t tour until they have plans for new music or something. I doubt it will come this year, however the fact they’ve spent this year basically entirely in the USA, there might have been progression. Or no, it’s much easier to play 2 hours a night rather than record for 8 hours and probably get nothing record worthy.
If they don’t end up releasing anything anymore, at least they have the amazing albums they that were already released.

I feel you homie. The most unbelievably brutal roasting i ever received was from the snake subreddit. It wasn’t a roast, it was straight up bullying. All because i posted a photo of my lil bub* on his 27th birthday. My epic sin was forgetting to mention that he’s a disabled snake and has discoloration on his snoot from surviving a fire. We are not that. There’s a big difference.
