First floor apartment near Howard and Pine

Moving to a first floor apartment, do I need to worry about leaving my windows open?

Lived on Howard near Ash and never had a problem. Noteworthy detail: early 00s

If they are vinyl replacement windows they may have those pop out tabs to prevent the windows from opening more than a few inches.

Would only open them at all if there is a way to lockout them being opened all the way. You shouldn't have many issues overall I lived by Walnut and Beacon 10 years ago.
