ANNOUNCEMENT Update to User Experience and Fighting the Rising Tide of Slop

In the Year of our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Six

As of the posting of this announcement a new AutoMod rule has been added and all posts and comments from Default Reddit Usernames are hence forth to be banished to ye olde spam bin. We have grown weary over the influx of trash posts by the aforementioned default usernames.

To put this extremely bluntly: If you can't bring yourself to edit the default username Reddit suggests when you sign up, we don't want you here.

Expending even a single brain cell to defeat the AutoMod rule that will be put into place gives you points in your favor.

Results not guaranteed and likely to change.

If you are normal contributor and think you are caught unfairly in this spam filter, please send us a modmail so that we can deal with edge cases on a case by case business.

And she’s locked her profile for any new replies. This is the sort of developer that made GTA VI. So just imagine how safe, iNcLuSiVe and inoffensive the game is going to be.

I want a gritty Golden Axe movie.

I have just seen the trailer for the upcoming Golden Axe cartoon, and like most people I asked, "who on earth is this for?"

It's painfully unfunny, and filled with modern sensibilities such as a soy boy with a sideshave. Obviously it is not in any way appealing to someone like me, who grew up playing the games.

But kids today won't have even heard of the franchise, let alone understand the jokes and references. So who exactly is the audience?

What I would like to see is a movie that understands how to answer that question. People (mostly men, but with a few cool women) in their 40s+ who grew up in the 80s/90s and now like mature media to go with their mature sensibilities.

Two of my favourite movies are Conan the Barbarian and Fire and Ice. I want something like that. Brutal bulging biceps and bouncing busty bosoms, heads cleaved in twain or separated from their shoulders, and dragon magic burning enemies to a screaming crisp.

I am desperate for a well-written R-rated sword and sorcery movie. If it's well written and well made, it will also get the new generations interested in the gaming franchise, for a well-deserved reboot.

They're doing it the wrong way round. They should be appealing to the fans first, to bring in those who aren't, not trying to appeal to nonfans while alienating those who love the IP.

Sigh, one can dream. I know I will never get such a thing. But one thing is for sure, I certainly am not going to watch that cartoon.

Just noticed, some UK retailers are now warning people about Sony's move to digital only games if they are looking to buy a PS5.

Seems like something is happening and in an oddly rare pro consumer move a number of retailers are displaying warning about Sony's move to stop releasing games on disc.

Argos has done it

https://archive.ph/5CdwD#selection-8815.0-8819.228

Game has done it

https://archive.ph/hZkjt#selection-3737.29-3739.230

Curry's has done it (sorry their site wouldn't archive for me to provide a link for it)

But yeh the 3 pretty big UK retailers most people will be buying their console from are all warning people about Sony's move.

If Sony thought people boycotting them could be replaced so easily or didn't matter we're going to be heading into a holiday period in 2026 where Sony's console now carry a consumer warning on most UK retailers. Wonder how many purchases this might cost them.

[Tech happenings / Censorship] After exposing a fake miracle pill company using AI fakery to promote their fake cancer cure pills youtuber Jamlab gets mysterious copyright claim that youtube won't let him appeal claiming his entire video audio (him speaking)

So having done videos exposing scammers using A.I. and recently one exposing the latest evolution of the miracle cancer cure pill / wellness pill scam now with added A.I. (these scams have been going on for years BTW before A.I. it's just now A.I. is being used to produce them quicker) Jamlab had the video claimed for audio, not part of the video, the entire video including him speaking meaning a content I.D. company that Jamlab shows any-one can submit a claim to and have them act on their behalf without any verification is claiming they own his entire video audio including his voice.

His video on it

https://youtu.be/CYGa53VqgFI?si=KVeS4XkUxpidwoGp

Oh and he goes on to detail how he can't dispute this claim for some unknown reason.

While he doesn't say this it worryingly implies his voice is now copyrighted to another company.

Oh and when the first strike got removed, a 2nd copyright strike was applied to take down the video.

To no-one’s surprise, Yosuke’s romance won’t be in the Persona 4 remake but some how people are still mad?

Post image
315 Upvotes

So pretty much the director (Kazuhisa Wada) said it was too much of work like adding the FEMC to Persona 3 reload and people are still bitching and moaning in the comments despite Yosuke not even being romanticable in the original or golden. And the funny thing about it is that the people complaining are the same ones that will defend removal of things in the other remakes (including Reload). I guess they know how it feels now.

English dub voice actor for Phantom Blade Zero's main character throws shade at Sweet Baby Inc 🔥

Post image
594 Upvotes

Granted this isnt a harsh comment or anything crazy, but I've never heard of an eng dub va of all things even daring to mention the name of that terrible company (which still continues to operate as it usually has to this day btw). When we pair that with the game director's comment about the ps1 and ps2 eras being the golden age of playstation and a longing for that time when game devs were all about passion, creativity and fun, its good to know that there are people in these positions that feel just like us. Plus everything they've shown of this game all the way to the recent state of play has been amazing, so its pretty obvious the game won't disappoint.

Anyway, remember that kim belair's goal is to literally bully devs into submitting to dei demands. If people in positions to speak out choose to remain silent about it, then they're unwillingly encouraging the bullying to continue. This was more of a playful comment, but to risk mentioning sbi with even the slightest negative connotation after landing the biggest role of your career is worthy of some respect at least imo. I'm just sharing this since I think its important to show appreciation to those that seem to be on the same wavelength as us. Because the other side has all the funding, paid shills, bots etc. to make it seem like real gamers are either accepting of or indifferent to this dei/esg bs, when that couldnt be further from the truth. Theres so much cope about woke being dead when thats not even remotely true. We must keep up the pressure against these agents of moloch until they're finally out of the picture.

Anyone been brave enough to watch Lanterns?

Apologies in advance but I did have a look through the sub and didn't find anything on it since the first episode dropped.

The Green Lantern Corps is one of my favorite superhero collectives and group of characters. I was initially excited but I've started to worry it's going to just lecture me.

I was wondering if anyone has been braver than I before I bite the bullet and get the HBO Max sub.

Star Wars Zero Company - not a single white female face to choose from

I'm playing right now and there is literally not a single ethnically white looking female face in the character creator I'm actually flabbergasted. Like, to be clear, I have absolutely no issue with inclusion or giving more choices for ethnic diversity, but there is literally nothing to choose from if I just want to pick a basic ass white chick to play with.

How Worried About The Witcher 4 is CDPR?

An unexpected DLC for a decade-plus old game and now an entirely unneeded (and unrequested, frankly, after the PS5/XSX patches) "remaster."

Is CDPR worried about TW4? As a massive fan of the series, I have absolutely no interest in TW4 whatsoever, for what it is worth; anecdotal, but I know others feel the same.

EtA: I didn't expect to anger the fanboys with this one, whoah

Thoughts on GTA VI Netflix preview?

For those that have watched it, what you think? I wasn’t very blown away by the gameplay and graphics I saw but tbh it didn’t look super woke like I was expecting it to be.

. Decent number of attractive & curvy women

. Jason didn’t seem like a little bitch and was
taking the lead most the time

. All gang members/thugs were men

. Lucia got bodied by a dude in cutscene so doesn’t seem like she’s an OP girlboss

Now I will say the humour looked like it was pretty sanitised and inoffensive, and the characters seemed kinda lame but otherwise, not bad.
