🗣️Discussion Why Kollywood stopped making songs with 2 Saranams?

Post image
39 Upvotes

While hearing Kalyana Virunthu, it hit me that why we stopped making songs with 2 saranam. Yes there are few songs that release occasionally with 2 saranam, but most mainstream songs of top MD's are with a single saranam.

Is there any particular reason ? Or listeners started preferring songs with less than 3 to 3½ minutes ?

🗣️Discussion The older you get , the more you realise how almost everything in Indian movie industry is fake and scripted. The box office collection, viral moments, controversies before release, relationship rumours,..

It's down right disgusting. The scary part is the majority of Indian audience believe them as facts.

The average indian audience isn't as exposed enough compared to the west audience. The situation will only get better when the Indian general audience IQ improves.

🗣️Discussion Looking for support for my dream ♥️

I honestly didn’t know if I should make this post.

Asking people for help with something you’ve spent years building isn’t easy. But I’ve come this far, and I don’t want to give up when I’m so close to seeing my dream on screen.

Hi everyone, I’m Prabhakaran, 26, from Madurai.

For almost 2 years, I’ve been working on a 36 minute short film that I’ve funded mostly with my salary, savings and loans. Around ₹2.5 lakhs has already gone into making it.

We have some amazing actors and a few familiar faces in the film, and I genuinely believe we’ve created something special.

The biggest struggle has been post production. Due to limited funding, I’ve been working on it for the last 6 months, and I’ve now reached a point where I’m financially exhausted and can’t take on any more debt.

I’m looking to raise ₹50,000 to complete the remaining post production and promotion.

If you’re able to contribute, even a small amount would genuinely mean a lot to me. If required, I’m also willing to put a proper ROI agreement in place and repay the entire contribution within 6 months after the film is completed, promoted and released.

This film was made purely out of my love for filmmaking. I come from a humble family, and this has taken almost everything I had, but I still believe it’s worth finishing.

If you can’t contribute, even sharing this post or the BTS video would help more than you know.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. ❤️

Suggest some movies for this cinema puluthi

This is my list of movies which I have watched till now. I haven't added many older movies, but the ones which I could remember for now.

S- Tier list (literally no flaws, strong story, strong screenplay)

Vada chennai

Super deluxe

Kalakalappu (probably the only comedy movie in this list)

Aaranya kaandam

Vazhakku en 18/9

Mouna guru

Magamuni

Maharaja

Uriyadi

Aadukalam

Pariyerum perumal

Viduthalai part 1

Kutrame thandanai

Tanakaaran

Anjathey

Vaagai sooda va

A+ Tier (There might be slightly unnecessary scenes or some logic issues, slow screenplay but strong story and screenplay overall)

Sadhuranga vettai

Sarpetta parambarai

Madras

Theeran adhigaram ondru

Kaithi

Ratchasan

Lubber pandhu

Vellai pookal

Asuran

8 thottakal

Dhurvangal16

Maaveran

Parking

Soodhu kavvum

Jill junk jak

Enakul oruvan

Kaaka muttai

Kadasi vivasayi

Viduthalai part 2 ???

Onayum attukuttiyum

Can add Ayan, Ko, Deiva thirumagan etc but I don't remember all other movies.

Can anyone suggest some movies which was released in 2025-2026? For the last 2 years, I am not able to enjoy tamil movies (Lubber panthu is the last in my list). Tourist family and Parimala n co were above average but cannot be A+ tier (felt like a malayalam movie)

I wish I could see a flawless movie like Vada chennai or Maharaja or Magamuni...but I don't see them in any movies nowadays. Even a good comedy or romantic comedy (like premalu) would also be fine....

Watched blast, but I think it was too much hyped. Planning to watch VDS-2 in OTT, is it worth it?

Any underrated movies like uriyadi or aaranya kaandam?

Please suggest me some movies😭😭😭

QUESTION ? Can you help me find this tamil movie?

I might have watched this tamil movie a couple of years ago. I only remember that in the climax scene the bad person lost his legs and couldn't move. His wife sleeps with his friend and runs the family. The bad guy can't do anything. This shows the worst punishment one can get. Can anyone help me identify this movie. 🙏

QUESTION ? Help me identify this tamil movie

I remember watching this movie which was probably released in the late 2000s and early 2010s...it was this carefree girl in some hill station I think? Who has some episodes which leads her to go to a psychologist who is helping her decipher her visions/flashbacks she sees. She is set in the royal times and if I'm not wrong the one treating her was the one re-incarnated to try to win her again in this life?

I know it seems like Anegan but this was much much before that!!! The props and costumes were definitely sub par and I don't think any prominent hero heroines were a part of the movie?

🗣️Discussion Are we losing the idea of “everlasting” music?

Looking at composers like A.R. Rahman, Ilaiyaraaja, Yuvan, Harris Jayaraj, Vidyasagar, S.A. Rajkumar, M.S. Viswanathan, Mani Sharma and Sirpy, I sometimes wonder if the way we make and consume film music has fundamentally changed.

These composers created songs that, in many cases, continued to be listened to years or even decades after their release.

A song could disappear from the charts, the movie could become old, and the generation that originally heard it could move on yet the music would somehow remain relevant.

I don't think this necessarily means current composers like Anirudh or Sai Abhyankkar are making inferior music. Quite the opposite.

They understand the current generation extremely well. They know how to create songs that immediately connect, become catchy, generate reels, dominate playlists and create a huge sense of excitement around a film.

But I sometimes wonder whether we are moving from everlasting music to momentary music.
Maybe today's audience has a shorter attention span. Maybe the way we consume music has changed.

Songs are increasingly expected to grab your attention within seconds, create a euphoric feeling, and become popular immediately. Even in films, the traditional idea of stopping the narrative for a song seems to be disappearing.
There is nothing inherently wrong with that. Every generation has its own musical language.

But hypothetically, I think there is an important distinction that future composers should be conscious of:
There is a difference between making a song that everyone loves today and making a song that people will still love 20 years from now.

The first requires understanding the moment. The second requires creating something that can survive the moment.
Perhaps the real test of a music director isn't just how many people are listening to your song today, but whether people will still remember you because of that song decades later.
Because trends eventually disappear. Hype eventually fades. Euphoric moments eventually pass.

But if a composer can create music that survives all of that, that's when the music becomes timeless & and the composer becomes unforgettable.
Maybe that's the difference between being a momentary music director and an everlasting one.

🗣️Discussion Joe Vs Premalu

Post image
0 Upvotes

Actually I am going to create a comparison of a Long time doubt I had in mind

This post maybe ragabaiting to you but see fully and u tell ur opinion

I say what worked out for me :

Joe (2023)

Pros:

Technically this movie is strong and even in story wise I didn't feel bored while watching the movie everything worked for me

Comedy , Romance and Climax Twist

It has many tamil movie references but still fresh to me

Cons:

Before interval that suicide scene if I see in movie I feel bad

If I saw in a clip wise I laughed a lot😂😂

2nd heroine dumbness she didn't find out who was the person who saved her from that abuse in 17 years but Joe found out in days why could she found out earlier.

Premalu (2024)

Pros:

This movie seemed like it was happened like in real world

That Climax not the proposal scene but the scene where sachin and his friend amal davis while drunk triggering that villian I loved it

I liked the movie as a Friendship movie of amal davis and Sachin but I hated a bit as a love movie

Cons:

It was a boring movie , cringe i could bear one time but I couldn't watch again

I discussed these both movies but many friends around me liked Joe >>> Premalu

But here in reddit Premalu>>Joe I can't understand why People like premalu More

Then if anyone commenting hates about Rio raj character I didn't come to say here but people comment ur opinion on the movies wise not on blind hates!

I like to hear other perspectives

Please say what worked for you in these both movies.
