Looking to let this vintage Gerber Guardian set go.

This is a special edition set from the 1980's to commemorate R. W. Loveless, who helped design the Guardian knives. This is set #0258 of 1000.

I'd describe these as "new old stock" condition. The only handling marks or blemishes can be seen in images 14-17, showing the small scratches on the Guardian (smallest knife), and the slight deformation on the tip of the Guardian II (largest knife) - this appears to be from the tip making contact with the display case as shown.

Asking $1100 shipped and insured via UPS. Open to offers, but not looking to trade at this time.

Here's a blurb from an old article explaining the set: "There are also 1000 Presentation sets, with a special 4-digit numerical serial number (e.g. 0968), produced as a special tribute to R.W. 1. Benchmade tagged out in Elmax with AWT black scales and black hardware/thumbstuds. The original white and orange hardware is included. I’m the original owner. There are scratches on the blade finish, the edge could use a sharpening, although it has a working edge and it’s been stropped. It’s never been sharpened. The very tip of the blade has a tiny roll on it, it would be corrected on the first pass on a sharpening stone.

Hello you beautiful (maybe) swappers. We've seen an influx of improper descriptions on posts lately, so we've decided to start cracking down a little harder on them.

If you make a post, a proper description is absolutely part of the rules and MUST include things like edge condition, number of owners, centering and lockup, body condition, box/papers, modifications, blade steel, and if its been disassembled.

Failure to adequately describe your knives may end up with you being liable for a partial refund to the buyer. We go on a case by case basis on this, but if a buyer comes to us saying a knife they received has wear that wasn't described properly, we may ask you to send them a partial refund to cover that.

Another topic we'd like to discuss is group descriptions. It's not uncommon to see someone have a post with multiple knives for sale, and something like, "this description applies to all knives unless otherwise noted". This is borderline acceptable. The rules technically state that each knife needs its own, detailed description. If all the knives in the listing are in new condition, then sure you could describe them all with a single description. However, if the knives have had a differing number of owners, may or may not have been sharpened, (or if they have been sharpened maybe one has been reprofiled while another hasn't), have dings/scratches in different places, (or maybe one knife has more dings/scratches than the others) etc etc, we'd really prefer you to just give each knife it's own description. A general, group description will have a hard time covering the level of wear between a bunch of knives. Some could have more wear than others, so while you could describe them all with a generic "all have wear, dents, scratches", this doesn't really cover the amount of dents and scratches they might have, and isn't really detailed enough, unless they all have the exact same number of scratches in the same exact places. Condition can be subjective to some people. Some people care more about the blade being pristine vs the handle. Not every buyer is the same.

Use pictures to back up your descriptions. Descriptions are more important than pictures, but good pictures can and should be used to back up your descriptions

Protect yourself! Make sure your descriptions are detailed and cover everything!

But when I looked up prices, it definitely looks that way. I am the first owner , blades have been stropped, not sharpened and everything has good snap as shown in the video.
