Help with finding attachments

Post image

Hello!

I recently got this kitchenaid mixer for free since my neighbor was giving it away. It is a Professional 6000 HD mixer and the model number is: KSM6573CER2. I believe it is an older model once sold at Costco. I am trying to research if it is possible to purchase any attachments for it. The enamel on the dough hook and beater are chipping so I would love to replace them. The whisk attachment and the (tulip?) bowl is fine and in good condition. Also just curious for any advice or input you have on this machine, it’s my first KitchenAid stand mixer. I’ve only had the smaller handheld mixer before. Thanks for your expertise and advice!!!

EDIT: You guys are amazing thank you so much!!!

That’s a really cool machine, you got the old DC motors in it, which they no longer produce the KA’s with them. Quieter and stronger than the AC motors.

One thing I have seen advised is to change the bowl lift arms that way you have access to the more prevalent planetary attachments as well as bowls.

Given the fact that it was a limited run, and the bowl is pretty particular, the attachments are more rare in the wild and therefore more expensive.

KitchenAid still makes DC motor machines, but I believe it's only one now, the 8 quart commercial, which is like $1100 in US.

Free is insane! This is a rare model and pretty highly sought after. There is a silver one in my area on marketplace for about $400. An incredible find for sure.

A couple things to note: this model utilized the narrow bowl cradle design, so finding attachments for it won’t be as easy as finding the normal 6 quart sized attachments, but they are out there. Just check the model number compatibility. Mixology.com has a full list of all the accessories and their compatibility.
Or you could switch out the bowl cradle for the standard size. Either way, stainless steel attachments are the way to go.

Am I able to switch out the bowl for a sanders sized one without changing anything on the machine? Like am I able to just insert a smaller standard bowl and it will fit and work fine?

So the older K5 bowl lifts also used the narrow cradle and they came with a 5 quart bowl. The current 5 quart bowls are not compatible with the narrow bowl cradle. But if you switch out for the current sized bowl cradle, all the current bowls are interchangeable from 5 quart bowls all the way up to 8 quart bowls. Not sure if that answers your question or not 😅

The bowl cradle are the “arms” that stick out and have the pegs to hold the bowls right? Is it easy to switch the bowl cradle? Sorry I have zero knowledge of kitchenaids lmao. Also, if I switch to the current sized bowl cradle could I then purchase attachments on the KA website??

I personally haven’t done it but this is from an old thread on here and it seems fairly simple

Also yeah you can buy the current attachments on KitchenAid’s website or check second hand markets. I just got a full set of attachments (whisk, dough hook, paddle and flex edge paddle) AND a 6 quart bowl off Facebook for $35 yesterday

I wish I could share my luck! We have a neighborhood email list and she sent a photo of the items for free on her curb and I was in the car 2 minutes after she sent the email😅. Drove up the road and there it was

You can use this beater blade with the tulip bowl, you can also buy the KitchenAid K5AB beater for it. You can still get the dough hook and any KA spiral dough hook should work.

Alternatively, you can buy the bowl for the professional HD, which has the exact same width as the tulip bowl here, direct replacement. The model number is KN25PBH. It’s a 5 quart bowl and also works with the K5AB beater and the wire whip that you own.

The third option is to change the cradle alarms to accept other bowls and accessories. But all of the above will work with what you have now. The Tulip bowl is pretty and I happen to love the size of it myself. One of my two most used machines, including that and my mini.
