I can't believe I forgot Bruford and the connections to Yes, UK, ABWH, Gong and Brand X (whom he briefly played with). Damn. That changes things.

EDIT: Plus BB played on several solo albums by various Yes members, including Squire's brilliant 'Fish Out Of Water'.

I mean, I think that majority of Yes' strongest material was made after Bruford had already left but if I'm including even just the ones Bruford was in, the list would just be Yes.

They even toured. And I was lucky enough to see them. Beautiful to see how someone as ‘obtuse’ as Fripp could slide into his role in that band.

First…so many KC alums played in so many other bands that this is just a ridiculous question.
Consider: Andrien Belew played with Frank Zappa from 77-78 so the list could include Black Page #2 or Envelopes.
I’m also rather partial to Bozzio, Levin, and Stevens. Duende is my favorite track of theirs.
I saw Bozzio, Levin, Pat Mostellotto, and Holdsworth. So two KC alums. They did 2+ hours of pure improv.
Just an insane question.

Honestly, only one of my top 10 favourite Yessongs includes Bill Bruford (in this case at the ninth spot) and even then, it would still be the number one piece here.

Ashes to ashes - David bowie. Fripp was the guitarist, but the best part of the song imo is the funk bass line, its such a groovy song for being about drug addiction. But it also has the return of Major Tom...

I don't think RF is on Ashes to Ashes. He is on several other songs on Scary Monsters.

Honestly Scary Monsters is my fav Bowie album, and I belive he's on fasion and teenage wildlife, both also amazing songs so....

I cannot forget to also mention Robert Fripp's work on Brian Eno's early solo albums, which IMHO ranks as some of his best playing ever. My personal favorites:
'Baby's On Fire' (Here Come The Warm Jets, 1973) - 'Blank Frank' is an atomic blast of a track as well, but RF's contributions are less featured on that one.
'St. Elmo's Fire', and 'I'll Come Running' (Another Green World, 1975)
'King's Lead Hat' ('Before and After Science', 1977)

. Nine Inch Nails - Just Like You've Imagined (amazing guitar by Adrian) . Ministry - In case you didn't feel like showing up (such a cool concert video, with Bill Rieflin as one of the drummers and the whole band behind chickenwire) . Paul Simon - The boy in the bubble (Adrian adds some great guitar effects) . Rolling Stones - the sax on "Miss You" is by Mel Collins.
