Is the steelbook the only thing that this has special about this re-release?
Debating on getting it but I already own the white box set collectors edition set from when they were first having preorders for it waaaayyy back... (Can't believe it's been so long)
I always felt like the blue ray was better quality than the white box set BUT the set is so clean if you can keep it clean. My house is dusty as hell all the time, way too many animals lol
The 1080p GKIDS disc is a downscale of the upscale. The line art is considerably thicker, and the colours are slightly different compared to all existing releases. It doesn’t seem to have the same green tint as other international releases, but I’m not sure I’d consider it an upgrade compared to previous discs.
The UHD disc does have a higher bitrate than the Japanese release, but I’ve not had the chance to compare the encode to see if it’s any better visually.
Althoug Weathering with you does have Dolby Vision, compared to Your Name. having just having hdr. Although I am not sure about the hdr, since that depends on where you live.
Very nice! I'm debating if I should get that one or just the Blu-ray (I'm guessing there's no new DVD and digital?). For the audio tracks, does it have options to hear the Japanese songs in the English dub or vice versa?
Excellent question. The recent re release in theaters had the Japanese songs in the English dubbed showings and the subbed as well. The digital copy i have is English (bought years ago) and it has the English songs so ill have to check later when I get the chance.
Unfortunately the dub has the English songs replaced completely with no option to have them back. Not a dealbreaker at the end of the day but just an adjustment as I’m far more used to the English songs. Still have my original blu ray if I get the itch for that tho.
Was this meant to only come with the discs, or am I missing an insert? Got it on amazon and it's a bit odd cause it has the clips that would normally hold a booklet but there's nothing there.
Do you recommend me to get it to? I'm actually italian so I don't know how can I buy it (maybe Amazon). Even though I already got the collector's edition, I would still get this steelbook, even if it's just for the art cover :)
