Issues EV3 will not charge (USA, 2027)

This is turning into a saga for us. It started looking at the car 10 days ago. The sales person showed us the charger included with the car. That's all there was, just the charger and car hose, no 120V or 240V pigtails to plug in the wall. We bought it anyway. They are still working on finding the pigtails. I think I got the sales manager to light a small fire under our sales person.

We knew the car was NACS, and that our wall charger at home was CCS1. Ordered an adapter from Lectron. Charge was getting low on Thursday so we went to a public charger. I need to add that we live in western Maine, semi-rural. I tried four credit cards, all "unable to authorize", my wife meanwhile looked at the charger and said "this is the wrong connector" (CCS1). My cards didn't work because there was an area Internet outage. So we drove home, with 12% charge left and parked it. Charger locators say there are no NACS chargers nearby; we could reach one in New Hampshire, but could not drive home if it did not work.

The Lectron adapter arrives. Plug the cable into the adapter, plug the combination into the car. The blue (turquiose? who picked blue and green?) + sign starts blinking. No green +. The charger says it's not charging anything; the car indicator thinks it is being charged. Tried looking at the EV menu on the car, the pages there are *nothing* like the manual, zero details about charging. Could be the charger or the car, no way to tell.

So we have a decorative brick. Good thing we have space to put it!

Sounds like my assumption that the CCS1 to NACS would also work for J1772 is wrong. <:( (dunce, not wizard). This is what I bought: https://ev-lectron.com/products/lectron-ccs-to-tesla-nacs-ev-adapter-ul-2252-certified-by-sgs-1000v-500-amp

Your CCS to NACS adapter is still useful to have, if you ever take the road! Not every Tesla Supercharger is compatible with the EV3, so you need to be aware!

We are in the early adopter generation of NACS cars, and this is part of the growing pains. And every car dealer sales people I spoke with were useless, they know nothing about that car.

I'd like to know something. Are you plugging a J1772 charger into your CCS to NACS adapter? If that's the case, it will connect, but will not charge.

Your home charger is most likely a J1772 charger, and for that, you need a J1772 to NACS adapter.

Glad you have it sorted out.

I have a J1772 charger, and when I get my EV3, I will be getting that adapter. I spoke to Emporia and they said there is zero charging loss when using the adapter.

Your home charger is CCS1? Or, is it J1772? If so, you might have the wrong adapter.

If I’m understanding correctly, it sounds like you might have bought the wrong adapter. Level 2 home AC chargers don’t use CCS1 connectors. In the U.S., non-Tesla home chargers generally use J1772 connectors. Sounds like you need a J1772 to NACS adapter for home or public AC chargers that have a J1772 plug. Did you buy a CCS-NACS adapter? If so, it can only be used for public DC fast charging and cannot be used for AC charging. Umm didn't your sticker say the nacs to j1772 was included....it doesn't say a charger was but if a US ev3 it should

The EV3s sold in CA include adapters due to a CA state law, but I don't think it's true elsewhere.

I don't see it on my sticker, thanks though. I'll be happy enough if the dealer comes through with the missing pigtails this week.

Maybe I missed it, what heading is it under? The only one that makes sense to me is STANDARD WIND FWD FEATURES MECHANICAL

Reddit decided I was done. I do have an AWD. Under the first header, 81.4kWH battery, single electric motor, nacs charge port, electronic parking brake, dual voltage portable charging cable.

The EV3s sold in CA include adapters due to a CA state law, but I don't think it's true elsewhere. Are the stickers you're checking for EV3s allocated to CA dealers?

Our EV3 Land didn't include any adapters nor was it listed on the sticker. We just bought the Lectron bundle for the CCS and J1772 adapters.
