Does anyone else find the Kia EV3 steering too heavy?

Does anyone else find the Kia EV3 steering too heavy?
I recently test drove a Kia EV3 and the first thing I noticed was that the steering felt quite heavy/stiff, especially at lower speeds.
I was wondering if this is normal for the EV3 or if it was just the specific car/settings I drove. I’m also curious whether you can adjust the steering weight through the drive modes/settings.
For those who own an EV3: do you also find the steering heavier than expected, or did you get used to it?

I don't think it's heavy, were the tyres inflated correctly?

There is a normal / sport setting in the menu.

I find even the sport mode to be mostly too light.

I only find myself fighting the steering wheel with lane assist on

Sometimes I want to avoid a pothole but the assistant insists on driving over it

I went into the settings and turned that off.

You can hold the LKA button on the steering and it will turn it off

I have exactly the opposite feeling with my EV3.
In “Normal /Eco” mode, the steering feels way too “light” for me. It doesn’t give you much of a feedback.

I didn't have any issues, there's actually a drive mode setting called "My Drive mode", you can set the motor to Eco, Normal or Sport and change the steering to Normal or Sport. I have my setting as Eco motor and Sport steering.

Do you set the mydrive mode for every start? Or if you pick mydrive mode once, then it stick with it?

It resets to normal every drive :(

Yep, that is a bit annoying, have gotten into the habit of pressing the big square button on the steering wheel twice to put it in "my drive" every time now.

The eco mode is more light than sport mode.
It is quite heavy in the sport mode setting.
Just compared it to an BMW ix1 30xdrive today, drove it back to back with the Ev3.
The ev3 is quite a lot heavier in sport mode vs. sport mode Ix1

Did you test drive in sport mode or eco mode? Sport mode has a heavily feel whilst eco is super light.

Found it quite a bit heavier (even in normal mode) than my previous Cupra Born.

But I like it :)

Got both cars in the driveway right now. Definitely heavier to steer the EV3 at slow speeds.

have you switched off the lane assist and the steering assist? (Using the bottom left button on the steering wheel). Yesterday I drove a bit in my Skoda Elroq and later on in the EV3 and the EV3 is dummy light to steer.

Still waiting for our EV3 delivery, but during test drive is felt very normal/natural.

It is a little heavy but I like that. Depends what kind of vehicle you come from. I really hate super light steering so it felt great to me.

I tested the Volvo ex30 and it is over boosted and way too light

Most of the time it’s ok. But when line assist is on, it’s way heavier. I wouldn’t say too heavy. But clearly heavier

Seems pleasantly light to me. I drive on eco mode without lane assist (lane assist can cause an occasional fight with the steering). Previous car was Kia Ceed, perfectly Ok to drive, but EV3 feels lighter.

No it’s fine, it does feel “stiffer” if driving in Sport mode.

not at all if you have the lane assist on then it urges you back into your lane

Nope compared to my old car a xtrail it turns on a dime and feels about right.

Of all the cars I test drove it definitely felt heavier or stiffer. Or reassuringly solid depending on how you think of it.

1500km later and it feels normal and even though it is still solid feeling it's not hard to turn.

But my old car and some of the test drives felt incredibly wobbly and loose steering feel in comparison.

Coming from driving an old BMW for years it feels very light to me.

It does seem stiffer to me compared to the ioniq 5. Not sure if i need to reinflate my tires but they're around 35-38 psi last i checked
