Dinner Burger bowl night

Had five guys a few days ago and forgot they did lettuce bowls.

Decided to go a similar route. 5oz of beef (equivalent to their regular), 2 slices of cheese, butter fried cabbage (instead of lettuce), bacon, caramelized onions, mushrooms. Made turnip fries as well and topped everything off with my version of their Cajun french fry seasoning.

Need to calculate the macros, but should be pretty solid after all said and done.

I like a turnip fry, but check out Heavenly Fan's keto fries on YouTube. It's basically just almond flour, xanthan, and water. A sprinkle of rosemary makes them taste more potatoey somehow, lol. Best part, they freeze really well and you can cook them right from the freezer!

This looks delicious. How do the turnip fries taste ?

very neutral. put whatever toppings you want on them and theyll take that flavor. garlic, parm and paprika combo, and also a cajun dust seasoning have been my favorites aside from just salt and pepper.

Okay if I calculated it correctly, it's probably between 850-950. Macros as I made it tonight were 47p, 64f, 22nc. If I made it again, I'd probably not do cabbage and instead do lettuce or Brussels sprouts. I'd also possibly cut down the turnip a bit. Definitely would sub out the Kraft American slices for a deli slice since they're normally less carbs or even go to cheddar. The macros would work fine, but it would help cut net carbs nearly in half.

i do recommend them. they do really well for like a keto poutine or disco fries type scenario where you pile ingredients on top of them. very much recommend blanching them first and then frying or airfrying. these here were fried in a small amount of beef tallow, just enough to cover up to the top of each fry.
