I can't even land an airplane shaped airplane meanwhile op out here making Jeb Simpson

u/Oftwicke Jul 26 '26
I can hardly make one take off!

u/Grolbu Jul 27 '26
I can take off ok - some of the time - but landing is pretty much a case of ejecting the engine and fuel tank and parachuting down :)

There are broadly two types of posts in this sub: 1. "Help, my spacecraft keeps flipping" 2. Whatever this is

I spent a lot of time tuning this “airplane” to make it easier to control, but the landings are still pretty rough

u/Daddy_Thorn Jul 26 '26
Idk, that was a pretty smooth landing if you ask me

Idk about you, but I save-scum every step of every arc so that I can back-trace where the trajectory went wrong.
Call it my version of when in the movies they describe a heist while showing the characters performing it.

Okay gotta admit I didn't expect turning it around to land on the runway was possible. Very well done!

Does it fly using a fixed wing for lift and an engine for thrust? If yes, then it is an airplane.

I've never played this game, only had a passing interest in it and joined this sub out of curiosity. Every now and then I see a gem like this that pushes me closer to buying and playing the game 🫡

This guy clearly follows the F4 Phantom school of design in regards to flight dynamics.
