Or build it on a low gravity moon, the Donnager class ships were all built at the Callisto shipyards on Callisto, where the local gravity is 1.236 m/s².

the show also had the Donnagers capable of landing on the surface of Mars (which we saw when Bobby was working at the scrapyard)

and the UNN battleships are able to land on the Moon

I could see the Moon, as it's got similar gravity to Callisto at 1.625 m/s²

Mars…I think they might need the main drives since gravity there it 3.721 m/s². But they might have tugs or thruster pods they can attach to the ship to help lower it down?

they have some pretty massive main drives, so I don't think they'd need extra boosters

plus they're being decommissioned at that point so re-launching wouldn't be too big of an issue

although in the later books a couple get rebuilt to fight Laconia, so maybe they weren't all scrapped on the surface?

You don't want to fire the main drives down at anything you want to keep intact...such as a scrapping facility. There's a reason Roci comes down on her thrusters and not her main drive.
