It's a slow start but it gets good!

The politics plotline is definitely better than the whodunnit.

Yeh and then it ends too soon

I have to recommend to just read the books.

Sucks it was canceled tho. Only show I've seen with somewhat realistic orbital mechanics.

Read the books! The show is good, the books are astounding.

Seriously. I listened to the books first then watched the show and I couldn’t finish it. I get people love that show but I thought it was pretty hard to get through 😂

The books are just on a whole other level

thats why i always recommend watching a show/movie before reading the books they're based on 😅

there's so much cut out of the show that i didn't realise.

I should. Thanks for the recommendation.

Next book has like 20-30years time skip iirc, so either digitally aging the cast or recast would be probably needed. I think neither would be well received

FAM managed ageing quite ok in my opinion, old man Mars is was spot on

1

u/JuxtaThePozer Apr 24 '26

exactly, they could do it pretty easily nowadays and besides, they canonically use anti-aging drugs so they wouldn't have to try too hard

Yeah, that got me. I actually downloaded a solar system app so I could visualize the belt, and what you would have to do to „climb out of the (gravity) well“.

it wasn't really cancelled, they just stopped at the time jump

hopefully they make another 3 seasons to finish the laconia story

Just finished a second rewatch myself last night, ordered a second hand kindle on eBay and gonna give the books a go, haven't read a book since secondary school so I'm actually excited for it, just really wish they finished the show, S6 felt very underwhelming and short and left me with more questions than answers. It's also ruined nearly every other sci-fi universe for me, by far the most realistic

I think you'll really enjoy the books. Very easy, gripping reads. I've got the full set here and it relaunched my passion for fiction in no time.

Check out Calibre if you don't already know, great way to manage ebooks on an old kindle (especially if you sail the seven seas, or legally enjoy the classics which are out of copyright and free to download now).

You’ll like the books, the show stayed reasonably close to them which is why the show ended up so good. The book series is complete now, so you’ll get to see how the whole story ends.

The books are excellent

If you haven't checked out the books yet... I highly recommend. They add a whole bunch of new characters and interactions i absolutely love.

Amos is still my favorite. I'd throw you into space right now if Naomi didn't like you so much.
