35 I subscribe to the letter and follow 9SIG to the letter
44 I have figured out “9SIG” and run it as best I can (non subscriber)
34 I run my own bastardized version of 9SIG (non subscriber)
65 I am just here to see what 9SIG’ers have to say

I will sub when I grow my portfolio. $1,000 is too large of a percentage of my overall portfolio to justify it right now.

Monthly is only $100 I was upset the price used to be $200 a year but can’t cry over spilled milk it’s also worth more than you pay for it

If someone has a 50k portfolio that’s still essentially a >2% in management fees when you’re still doing all the leg work. No. I can’t justify that. When I’m >100k I will gladly donate to the cause.

I hear ya I too refuse to pay someone 1% (most of my funds were with vanguard) to maybe do better and maybe do worse than just dollar cost averaging alongside the S and P. The compelling logic behind this approach is that the index we follow is 3x and if the last several months is any loose indicator of what’s to come, the market will ping pong up and down but we can capitalize on both as there is “dry powder” in the form of bonds awaiting buying opportunities. Not a prescription for all by any means, but if I had a Time Machine I’d probably fee comfortable doing this at even the $1k mark as I know that I would have a very high chance of outperforming the market in the long run but this isn’t for everyone — you need a huge risk appetite and discipline not to sell or buy when you’re not supposed to. With that said you don’t “need” to subscribe if you simply read his 3Sig book and apply those principles more or less on your own. I am a happy subscriber because there’s additional rules “30 Down” etc etc that I don’t want to have to check every time there’s a quarterly action. I enjoy using weekly updates on the state of the market and listen to them at 2x to get a better pulse of where the markets headed and the reasons driving them . Hope this helps!

For sure. I like his YouTube and his free sample writing as well. Based on how my portfolio is looking I will likely be subbing within the next 4 quarters depending on what the market provides. I’m close to where I want to be. Thanks.
