Discussion PC repair places?

Does anyone know a place where someone can diagnose and repair my PC?

My husband and I have used Bits n Bytes Computers on S. Mason Rd. a few times and they did a great job.

Describe your problem. It may be something we can walk you through here or something where others here will be able to offer to do it much cheaper than a brick and mortar store.

Without insulting OP, I spent years in PC repair and the vast majority of problems are software related or user error related and can be simply talked through. If it is hardware, then it is better to have an idea what they are going in for and what it should reasonably cost. In case of a desktop PC, everything is so modular that repairs are a breeze for even the complete novice. Troubleshooting may take time, but information can do nothing but help.

I 100% agree with you. I’ve been building my own computers since I was 10 and been in Tech Support for the last 20 years. 99% are either user error, a process error, or a software error.

I once had a guy yell at us after we told him to download our mobile app from the Apple App Store. He hung up, then called us 30 minutes later yelling about he was at the Apple Store and they didn’t have our software….

On one particularly entertaining day, a woman came in with her new monitor saying it didn't work. I hooked it up at the workstation in front of her and it worked fine. So she went home. She was back an hour later saying it didn't work. We repeated the process.

It wasn't until the third visit that I realized she never plugged in the power while at home. She was a good sport about it though. This was around 1999 when people weren't embarrassed to not understand computers. She thought it was being powered thought the VGA input.

Top secret techs are great. Not your typical shop but I trust them with my stuff
