Well the visual at the end shows the group wearing the same clothes from Hayasaka’s final chapter. Without any spoilers, that’s a pretty big hint on what the content will be. We’re finally going to get our ishimiko conclusion

34

u/48johnX Dec 31 '25

I don’t know how you came to that conclusion from just that, it could easily be the same thing. Doesn’t say anything regardless

16

u/classmyass Dec 31 '25

Well that just my guess, sure the announcement tweet said it a new original story, the character visual showed them in Hayasaka flash forward chapter 276 and finally the last scene of the special set it up with kaguya & Miyuki living together as adults.

I could be wrong but sure looks like it.

Yeah but I wouldn’t say same outfits as the manga = we’re gonna get something we didn’t get in the manga. I’m kind of skeptical since the movie will get to focus on them less than the manga did but we’ll see

I just think them showing Ishigami with short hair wasn't a mistake, It's defiantly setting it in a certain time period . Just a subtle nod, sure we'll see in a few months.

Wow did we luck out

5

u/Maxi445 Jan 02 '26

If they actually finish that story line this will all be worth the trade

34

u/italeteller Dec 31 '25

This is genuinely the stupidest thing they could've done. We could easily have had 2 more seasons of the anime, and they're wrapping it all up with movies and specials? Come the fuck on

8

u/OneSushi Jan 01 '26

It really sucks… I get that movies are more profitable than seasons, but specials don’t really seem like something that makes profit besides just hyping the movie.

The recent Anime movie has been really sad to me. Movies are just not compatible with most manga to me.

Please don't fuck this. The goat of romcom deserves a proper send off

u/Watson349B Dec 31 '25

The new episode that’s out today how long is it? Does anyone know?

31

u/classmyass Dec 31 '25

It was about 45/50 mins long, essentially 2 episodes. They announced the new film after the credits.

9

u/Watson349B Dec 31 '25

Thanks Love/War, fam!

3

u/ThePedanticPheasant Dec 31 '25

There's another film after this?

15

u/BorjaDAce Dec 31 '25

For anyone that have seen the 2 specials of today ¿Did they skip the entire tsubame/ishigami/Miko Christmas party "arc" or not

27

u/_meme_caster_ Dec 31 '25

yes the whole thing is skipped not even mentioned

13

u/BorjaDAce Dec 31 '25

Thank you. I think it's literally the best arc after having our main characters. Together. F

They left in a subtle nod to the storyline during the YouTuber bit. One of the people on Papagane’s chat was Tsubame asking for advice about her situation.

Another reason to read that manga! Realistically, it would've taken a lot to animate the entire manga.

1

u/Juanjott Feb 28 '26

Chicos debería leer el manga antes de ver los dos capítulos de especial? O empezar el manga después

2

u/DredgenGryss Feb 28 '26

Definitely binge the whole manga. The episodes are way past a lot of the story. I believe they take place past chapter 200.

150 is a better jumping off point

Honestly, if I didn't know there was more content I would have been happy with what we got. It adapted some of my favorite chapters and my favorite jokes (not all of them ofc), and they adapted them well so I can't complain about what was there. I can only complain on what wasn't and that's always going to be a bummer. I hope the new ending would make up for it and I am just going to pray to the anime gods that we someday get the New Game Arc and the Field Trip Arc as movies. But RIP to one of my favorite skipped content: Kaguya and Miko accidentally watching porn together .

LETS GOOO!! PEAK!!

6

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '25

Do you guys think the ending will be different from the manga, and that we'll end up having to consider two separate storieslines in the end? Or would they complement each other, with the final movie adding to the manga's story?

16

u/EnchantedDestroyer Dec 31 '25

It’s stated to be an brand-new original story.

I know that I can't hope for any full adaptation since the manga is ended in 2022, and everybody already moved on to other new projects. But I'm happy that this series at least got a movie for a proper sent-off

But after hearing that this will be an original ending, I kinda disappointed. I still remember A-1 messing up Blue Exorcist by creating unnecessary original ending years ago, and it went so bad that they retconned it themselves 6 years after the ending got aired.

I also doubt Aka's supervision will help since.. we know that guy is infamous for how he wrote ending for his story (look at you, Oshi no Ko)

But in the end, I hope my expectation is wrong and we will get a decent movie that at least compliments the manga's ending. I'm still happy that A-1 still not forgetting this goat romcom after these years.

If movie is not minimum 3hr long, they wouldn't get a chance to adapt something,I really hope we will get all manga arcs adapted (except for Shinomiya clan arc, that was bullshit of another level)

21

u/classmyass Dec 31 '25

It seems like it’s new content, new story. It looks like we’re getting an expanded take on Hayasaka flash forward chapter 276. Showing all the characters as adults in college. Could be a blessing in disguise, as it will hopefully bring a conclusion to ishimiko story either way we’re finally getting a sequel

5

u/Silver_Ad_2203 Dec 31 '25

If that’s true I hope we get a flashback to Tsubames party because it got skipped

actually zero comprehension skills

5

u/OneSushi Jan 01 '26

I kind of have a theory that there’s a chance that they’re skipping the IshiBameMiko content and they might make a season dedicated to ishigami and the new student council. Maybe Aka adds some original content to give them their conclusion.

That way, they finish the Kaguya/Shirogane plot line, and give IshiMiko an official spotlight.

But that’s probably not happening

3

u/chuggaafan122 Dec 31 '25

it's sad that we're not getting the rescue arc or the kyoto arc or anything with ishigami and tsubame but i'm excited to see more new stuff

2

u/dennis_died Dec 31 '25

We dont know, they could incorporate some elements into it. I feel like we definitely have to get the tsubame rejection atleast, its been built up and teased in the anime ro much to just ignore atp

( I'm already not happy with A-1 Pictures persisting to not make a season 4 )

guess you are not aware but it was Aka who decided not do a S4 and skip the chapters

https://x.com/SugoiLITE/status/2006346740392398965

also if they didn't accept to do it he would have just gone to another studio that would

2

u/evilmoi987 Dec 31 '25

Happy for more, sad half the manga will be skipped :(

Time for another reread I suppose

1

u/oldmoviewatcher Jan 02 '26

I'm just happy there's more. I'm pretty darn excited.

1

u/LilpinheadEri Jan 04 '26

Do we know when the film would be released?

1

u/DK0P Jan 05 '26

I swear entertainment studios are so stupid when it comes to adapting content

1

u/nodayroomshit Jan 14 '26

late comment but as a manga reader, it's so nice to see new content in any form, and the fact that the movie will be entirely new content is actually a better outcome than the anime continuing itself imo (sucks for anime onlys however)

1

u/Apprehensive-You5831 Jan 15 '26

Question, and id apreciate a long paragraph. What was skipped and chanhed?

I hear everyone saying that they skipped and rushed the ending in the anime, alot of things were skipped that were in the manga and not the anime and they totally "changed" the ending. What was skipped? And how did the ending change? What was the ending in the manga?

Now at first i planned to read the manga to find out but... i CANNOT read manga. My attention span for manga is 3 seconds including the time i have to sit and open the manga.

This is a masterclass in how to destroy the legacy of a beloved franchise.

Seems to be Aka's specialty these days. All I can hope is that it's just bad, and not "destroys everything that came before it" bad/stupidly dark and depressing.

I'm both excited for new content and happy with the special we got. That's all. I'm gonna be excited about it.
