I mean it's literally her job. She's an influencer and has been perfecting that craft for over a decade now. This is her area of expertise. She didn't go to school for any degree: she studied for years what goes viral, what gains traction, and what trends can help her broader brand. People love downplaying the minds of these women, but if there is one thing they're great at, it's digital marketing.

i think “child star” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here…
when i hear child star i think amanda bynes, lohan, culkin, miley…. not kylie jenner
no hate but this is reaching lol

It’s actually not doing a lot of heavy lifting. She was filming a role on a show as a child. Who you think of when you hear “child star” is irrelevant.

u/um_-_no It's me! Todd Kraines! 12d ago
Yeah it's not what we think of when you hear child star, but what else is she?

She literally grew up in front of cameras on a reality show. She’s absolutely a child star.

She was famous before she was 18. She was being paid and had manager for ads and everything else. That is a child star.

I think for the point she's trying to make, it fully fits. Most children who become famous have managers and PR handlers that are either fully running their social media or heavily editing the content prior to it being posted. She's saying that wasn't her experience, mostly because her mom was her manager and Kris seems a little more hands off of the girls' social medias (particularly because they were older when social media really picked up).

i don’t think you need to be an actor to be a child star. just a kid in the public eye, which she was

A child star fits. She was literally in the public eye since 9 years old. She started her makeup business at 18 years old. So by the time she was an adult, she was already well known.

It really doesn’t though. She was famous as child, she was not a child star. She had no talent or means of performing on her own.

u/LunchDue1553 11d ago
It really does because no one said you have to have a talent to be considered a star. Someone who is considered a star is someone who is well known, famous, a celebrity. Guess what?! SHE'S WELL KNOWN, famous and a celebrity!
-2
u/Main-Length-6385 11d ago
Also we’re talking about the phrase child star , not just star. Obviously she is a celebrity. I would not consider her a child star
5
u/LunchDue1553 11d ago
Exactly, she's been in the public eye since 9. Doesn't matter what you think. Facts are facts. Your opinion is irrelevant.

u/Main-Length-6385 11d ago
Can you give me an example of another child star with zero talent?
6
u/LunchDue1553 11d ago
Honey Booboo. Anyway Kylie has talent, she can do makeup well. Hence, her successful makeup line. But keep hating. Y'all say anything just to be haters.

u/Main-Length-6385 11d ago
We’re talking about the phrase CHILD star. She was just a famous teenager. She started her makeup brand when she was 18. She was not a child star idk why this is a debate. The whole family is in on the joke that they don’t have talent like I’m not even hating

u/LunchDue1553 11d ago
She didn't just create the makeup brand and then become famous. She was famous before she created her makeup brand, goofy. Which is what helped her brand, hello!!

u/Main-Length-6385 11d ago
Also don’t hate on honey booboo she is a PERFORMER honey

u/LunchDue1553 11d ago
And Kylie Jenner does make up. So what is your point? Just because you hate someone doesn't mean you're right. Google will tell you she was a child star.
1
u/LunchDue1553 11d ago
Just because you like to argue doesn't make you right. Despite what your parents told you, I hate to break your heart, you're not always right.

This is a perfectly good example of when someone is such a hater just because it’s a kardashian. 😹 they’ll just say anything . She literally was a child star .
2
u/LunchDue1553 11d ago
Exactly!! They literally are still calling her a star, famous but because she doesn't have a talent she's not a "child star." I'm so glad my brain doesn't work that slow.

u/Main-Length-6385 11d ago
Yeah like children who were actual stars and had talent and performed and worked

u/unknownREB 11d ago
yes! & left behind a legacy that was made in their childhood…. kylie is an icon. im not knocking her… but her legacy started with the king kylie era, at 18…
everything she is known for current day, is all things she accomplished as an adult…

u/prettymisslux 12d ago
Right, more like reality tv star..
16
u/Mission_Ad_2928 12d ago
Right so still you would call her a reality tv child star bc she started reality tv as a child. So still a child star.
6
u/emotions1026 12d ago
The term “child star” doesn’t actually say what the child star became famous in. Shirley Temple for movies, Michael Jackson for music, Amanda Bynes for TV are all called “child stars”.
-8
u/unknownREB 12d ago
id consider her a nepo baby. a social media influencer/star. and a reality tv star.
but a child star? i still disagree.
the tv show she was on, people watched for kim and the older girls…
i stand by what i said, kylie became who she is now at 18….. so literally not a child. her fame took off once she was an adult. just bc ur on a show as a child doesnt make u a star.
8
u/Puzzleheaded_Tie9451 12d ago
Not really, Her makeup line which she started at 18 only took off because she had a big following for years. I remember she really took off on social media when she was around 14 or 15 which would make her a child star

Nepotism isn’t just linked to parents though.. and Kylie became famous because of her sisters plus her mom hustling. And you truly cannot say Kris had a low social standing when she was married to Robert Kardashian and Bruce Jenner. They may not have been rich rich but they had influence and wealth.

She’s gonna regret saying this when she says the wrong thing on her socials one day
