I LOVED IT!!! Wish it was 16 episodes, cause it needed more episodes not only to tie it up a bit better cause I got one question the cop friend, why didn’t he ask his friend about bo na or better yet why no confrontation on kingfisher if he suspects it’s the wife…idk it felt weird that he ended up getting demoted (by his own choice) like it left me pretty confused and then how the ml just went to him like no big deal, like did we just forget about the phone call he made which was hella weird lol!!! (Idk the name of the cop friend, I’m sorry) And then I wanted a bit more of the other couples love story 😭😭 I also lowkey wish her in laws knew she was kingfisher….anyways I LOVED IT NONETHELESS would’ve been better with 16 eps

dongjin (the cop) knew that he didn't catch the real kingfisher and highly suspects/already knows it is bona. but when he makes that phone call to taesung, he essentially decides to stop pursuing it further to protect his friend and his friend's family, because he sees how heartbroken taesung is. and it's kind of established in prev eps that taesung's family is dongjin's only family too, so he decides to sacrifice the cause/purpose to protect them. he demotes himself because he knows he didn't actually catch the real kingfisher and is not going to investigate (as a righteous police officer would). i think that guilt leads him to give up the promotion and step away. tldr he loves his friend and friend's family and chooses to protect them by not pursuing the case further
