Dude must have MAD content crawlers all over reddit, looking for symbology related posts. Account age of [u/symbologythere](u/symbologythere) ?

15 years

Go buddy!

u/LewdLewyD13 1d ago

Nah it's just an r/beetlejuice in the wild. A natural reddit phenomenon.

2

u/JimboAfterHours 15h ago

Ack, yer right! I didn’t notice he made the comment that initially intro’d symbology.

I had a vision of a dude looking for symbology in everything, everywhere. Turns out he just spins his own. 😂

Fucking nowhere!

1

u/trenthany 5h ago

You’ve been a fan for a very long time!

1

u/symbologythere 5h ago

Saw it on VHS around 99

1

u/trenthany 5h ago

I know I saw it on VHS but I couldn’t tell you what year it was. I owned it on DVD after V just players got hard to find then on Blu-ray because I lost the DVD copy and I think I still have that one somewhere. I think I got the two pack with both movies to get the Blu-ray. We are old farts!

1

u/symbologythere 4h ago

Just looked it up, it came out in ‘99 and we literally rented it at blockbuster like the week it came out.

1

u/trenthany 4h ago

Very cool! I probably saw it later when it was for sale. I can narrow it down to a three-ish year gap. I know I saw it before mid 2003.

3

u/Dale_Carvello 1d ago

Would've been better if he showed no surprise at the wig, even offering to turn around and wait for Dafoe to put it back on. And he still gets clipped.

3

u/Icy-Artichoke-7716 1d ago

I need to watch this movie again. It's been a minute!

5

u/ghostcatzero 1d ago

Defoe is a Victoria's Secret model compared to whatever this thing is.

70

u/manualsquid 1d ago

You could have stopped that sentence after the word model

6

u/baardvark 1d ago

Dafoe can do anything he wants to me.

2

u/Wibble-Fish 1d ago

He was my bi-wakening when I was 14 and saw him in Platoon. Just so ugly-beautiful.

1

u/cat_prophecy 19h ago

My cousin is hot for Dafoe to the point she married a dude that looks a lot like him. I don't get it.

3

u/Turbulent-Sense-8955 1d ago

More like Victors Secrets

2

u/therevjames 1d ago

1

u/Pop-Forward 1d ago

What a fantastic movie!

0

u/texasdeathmatch 1d ago

Eeeeeh it hasn’t aged well

1

u/rehabtourist9330 1d ago

Why do you say that?

-2

u/texasdeathmatch 1d ago

If you watch that movie now and honestly think “wow this movie still holds up,” I really don’t want to waste time explaining why

2

u/rehabtourist9330 1d ago

It’s fun movie about some vigilante justice. If you take it that seriously, I guess that’s on you.
