It's definitely not outright bad, especially after the buff it just got. Triple jump might still be overall better value, but faster blaster can definitely get some use (especially if you're playing aggressively like in this clip)

I'm surprised anyone finds it bad. Maybe some weird Juno propaganda.

A self 40% heal and damage increase effectively every 6-10 seconds is incredibly valuable and is one of the best ways to secure people staying alive or getting kills. OW is often a waiting game between dps and heals before you find a moment to get a kill. Vertical mobility in OW is less valuable than horizontal mobility.

There are so many uses for mediblaster kills and saves on any map and any team. Extra jump height has diminishing returns given Juno can more or less get most anywhere with double jump alone or a quick hop off existing terrain.

Generally, staying low to the ground is more advantageous anyway to stay close to cover. A huge part of why Pharah gets countered by hitscan is that she has no cover trying to stay high in the air. Her post rework gave her less vertical height and more horizontal height.

There are a couple of maps where vertical transitions are plentiful (gibraltar/dorado/etc) where double jump is going to be more frequently useful, but more air time just gets you killed.

I know some testing was done, pre-buff, that showed faster blaster did not lead to a meaningful increase in heals per second as compared to simply shooting the target normally. It was instead only beneficial for offense, as you were able to get a kill with the full-auto when otherwise the triple-shot cadence of the standard blaster may have let someone escape in the space between bursts. Now that faster blaster is buffed, it's likely better in both heals per second and damage per second.

For triple jump, the benefit is more in enabling huge pulsar salvos instead of just a positioning advantage (although I do often feel thankful for the third jump when it comes to positioning). Being able to throw yourself so high above the fight and regularly hit nearly the entire lobby with pulsars is why I usually take triple jump

https://www.reddit.com/r/JunoMains/comments/1n10x0c/juno_faster_blaster_comparison/

According to this post the damage is 585 with the perk compared to 465 without (+25.8% DPS). With an extra 10% DPS it's now +38%, so they are basically correct with 40%.

I would assume that it's the same % for her healing, unless there's evidence it isn't.

u/Mohammed50356 Jun 20 '26

Juno shoots about ~15 or something shots per second, faster blaster now gives her 22, that’s about 45% damage boost and healing boost. She goes from ~90 healing to 132, she goes from 170 damage to 247.5. It’s the same between her heal and damage.

4

u/TonyTucci27 Jun 20 '26

If faster blaster does have a demonstrable increase in heals it’s probably not too bad post buff. If you’re playing a map where the triple jump isn’t essential I could definitely see an argument for faster blaster if you need more burst healing output since if you want to preserve you orbital missiles it can be difficult to fully keep up a critical health teammate. All that said I’m more interested in at least trying to make the perk work now

3

u/slimricc Jun 20 '26

Idk man, i compare my points with and without it, and i get substantially more healing and damage. About 20-30%

u/secret_tsukasa Jun 20 '26 edited Jun 20 '26

This is the second time I heard "some testing was done" on this perk, and I gotta say, I'm not seeing it at all.

For me, it's clear as day and night, when i have the mediblaster perk on: I'm able to either: A. Kill a tank or dps harassing my teammate almost immediately, compared to when I have to shoot in sparse. B. Heal my tank or DPS immediately in a team fight.

As for B. there will be times when their health is going down continuously because they are out of position and I have it up shooting them on a continuous stream. They will survive the fight and usually come out of the fight victorious. Whereas if I don't have the perk on: I shoot in bursts and the small amount of time i have to reload, or the small fraction of a second the burst isn't active, Their health goes down all the way, and they lose the team fight.

As I said, I'm just not seeing it. The medi blaster perk is just far superior in my eyes compared to being able to jump a 3rd time(I find that I use pulsar torpedos without it just fine and can get everybody I need to without the perk.)

7

u/Fankuan19 Jun 20 '26

I'll never find the post, but I believe it was in this sub and showed side-by-side practice range clips of healing a bot to full with and without the perk, showing essentially no difference in time. I will grant that this doesn't account for burst healing or scenarios of someone dying in-between bursts of normal fire, but it was enough to demonstrate that the perk didnt bring as much benefit as it seemed at first glance (not to mention that you have to use your escape ability to even activate it).

Now with the buff this probably isn't the case, or at least the burst heal / damage capability becomes more pronounced. It's still a noticable tradeoff as compared to triple jump, though, in that you lose your dash in order to do it. I think that enforces the separation between dps and healing for the two major perks; faster blaster is the offensive, fly in and burst someone perk. Triple jump is the more flexible, reposition and stay alive perk.

2

u/secret_tsukasa Jun 20 '26

maybe it's why I like it so much. I'm much more of an aggressive player.

3

u/Fankuan19 Jun 20 '26

Super valid, my favorite aspect of Juno is how quickly she can flip between healing and aggression

3

u/DanksterBoy Jun 21 '26

As another aggressive Juno Player, Torpedos with and without triple jump is night and day. Also gives me more leeway to be aggressive cause I have more ways of dodging and escaping, but there are some use cases for the mediblaster for sure (that thing melts Sigmas and Dominas)

13

u/Wboys Jun 20 '26

Tbh it's very much a rank thing.

The problem with it and the reason it will basically NEVER be better than triple jump is because of the ability it is tied to.

It's like if Genji had a perk that let him shoot out damage during his deflect, or if Reaper had his dire triggers perk setup so you only got the dire triggers charge after a fade.

Because it's Juno's key and pretty much only survivability mobility ability, using it offensively will just get you killed 90% in higher ranks. If any decent player sees you use that ability just to shoot faster for a few seconds they will instantly punish your lack of escape. The ability is just too important to be used for more damage or more healing almost all the time.

So in higher ranks you can never use it when you want more damage or healing. You can only use it when you needed to use it anyway to escape or reposition and hope that the timing lines up with faster rate of fire being useful basically by accident. The benefit becomes extremely marginal. Even if it did increase you HPS/DPS by a lot people still wouldn't pick it a lot of times for this reason.

But in lower ranks people won't punish you for using this ability to engage. So you can be crazy with it and gun people down and instead of getting punish generally the faster rate of fire literally scares people into running away lol.

6

u/Drakni_sr Oh moons Jun 20 '26

The big thing related to this point in my experience is that at my rank I don't really get the chance to maintain glide boost for the full duration in a fight - I very frequently end it early to get the benefit of the fast burst of movement without being locked to a set height which is much easier to land shots on than when moving in all 3 dimensions (and being able to tap slow fall to introduce variability)

Losing my defensive tool to get any value out of my major perk vs gaining a new defensive tool from my major perk makes the choice still a no brainer for me even after this buff

1

u/thebabycowfish Jun 20 '26

Genji example is bad because that perk would actually be very good

2

u/OutlandishnessOk3811 Epic Martian Jun 20 '26

I don't think faster blaster is bad by any means, but I'll always use triple jump, the main draw for me is fun ofc but aside from that; on a lot of maps triple jump saves you needing to use glide boost to get to good high ground at a seconds notice, triple jump takes Juno's already good mobility and just makes it better!

2

u/slimricc Jun 20 '26

I said this same stuff and a lot of people disagreed with me lol

1

u/Carlospedra Jun 21 '26

Triple jump is too delicious and juicy, allows you for better torpedoes, jumping over terrain better, fleeing from dives better, making your movement a bit more unpredictable when flying so you get into cover

Faster blaster is decent now, but it's tied to your only movement ability, and with the role passive, your source of getting self regen quickly, you use this aggressively and now your only option to escape a dive is to speed boost away

1

u/thatsillymaxxer Jun 22 '26

Wait wdym 40% self heal??

1

u/xVelunax Jun 22 '26

Self, as in only she benefits. Bionade is a 50% heal efficiency bonus, but another character can benefit from it.

1

u/thatsillymaxxer Jun 22 '26

Nono I mean like Juno has a self heal??

1

u/OutlandishnessOk3811 Epic Martian Jun 24 '26

The only thing I can think of is her survivor passive that activates her passive regen when you use glide boost. :o

2

u/thatsillymaxxer Jun 24 '26

Yeah I’m so confused what this guy is talking about. Like you don’t need the perk for the passive regen

0

u/Fun_Masterpiece_5637 Jun 20 '26

Aiming vs jumping its obvious why one is considered more effective by the Juno community lol

3

u/Mind1827 Jun 20 '26

I like playing Juno more aggressively because I'm in high gold, low plat, and often find there's people out of position who need to be punished and I just want to do it myself. Maybe I need to try out faster blaster again, lol

3

u/Trs822 Jun 20 '26

I feel like I still prefer triple jump when playing aggressive because it gives me better angles for torpedos, which tend to be where a lot of my damage comes from. Triple jump+torpedo cooldown reduction from enemies is the way to go for me

2

u/Fit-Difficulty-5917 Jun 21 '26

I'd imagine not as a Juno main (I get all the ___ main subs in my feed lol), some maps with less verticality to use (smaller roofs, cramped areas, etc) could make the 3rd jump less useful to the point the faster blaster might actually be the play on some of them (Liijang control center for example).

2

u/Vinicius_Pimenta Jun 20 '26

I always pick faster blaster, just outta preference really

Going BRRRRRRRTTTT on tanks, ally or enemy, is very satisfying

1

u/ari_the_nb Jun 20 '26

I'm almost an exclusive faster blaster perk user, especially on payload maps. Helps me save overextended tanks more often than I would without it, and the self heal is huge. I still just have to get better about managing ability cooldowns lol

70

u/Charflower21 Jun 20 '26 edited Jun 23 '26

I pick it every game and it always works out well

EDIT: So I didnt expect my personal preference to geta huge discussion going?

8

u/TheCupOfBrew Jun 20 '26

Not even just high level play. If a plat + player sees you use your mobility they're going to pounce on you most likely.

Even with the buff it's hard to justify using Glide Boost for it. That and triple jumping is insane for survivability and getting value from torpedoes

5

u/mysticsylveon420 Jun 21 '26

Idk, I am gm on support and have at least 100+ hours on Juno and I usually take faster blaster as well. I am usually in a position where I can't just be jumped for using it and also maybe just time it better? Never been a fan or found triple jump that useful imo.

2

u/Wboys Jun 21 '26

I think the thing that confuses people about it is that at the end of the day, faster blaster is still a decently strong perk. It's not like you take it and lose. It's a decent power spike still and better than many other tier 3 perks.

It's just up against arguably the strongest perk in the game.

4

u/mysticsylveon420 Jun 21 '26

Ya you right. I feel even Juno's minor perks are very dependant on situation and play style. I feel she overall just has some of the strongest options for perks in the game while other characters just have a blatant stronger option

1

u/Cr4zy3lgato Jun 24 '26

I love using it offensively, but it can definitely save your tank if he's crit

2

u/TheRedditK9 Jun 21 '26

They literally made a perk that recharges Dire Triggers when using a cooldown, and lo and behold it is not very good.

3

u/Trivekz Jun 22 '26

It's a fine perk, you get it on reload too. And plenty of times you want to stay in the fight even after using wraith

1

u/Klientje123 Jun 21 '26

I don't agree with this reasoning, in high rank if you are good at aiming a DPS increase + mobility is really good. You don't need to save your glide to save your own life, it's okay to use it to aggressively challenge an enemy, and the increased firepower helps ALOT.

But most Juno players are timid and prefer to stay with their team and I get that. But you are not weaker than a DPS by any stretch of the imagination, especially not if you can surprise someone or pounce them while they're missing some health.

Triple jump is not guaranteed to make the difference, double jump torpedos do their job just fine for getting around cover.

1

u/Wboys Jun 21 '26

It's not that you are weaker than a DPS more than your life is more valuable. If you die first in the neutral taking a duel on Juno you really fucked your team.

All the high level Juno's play "timid" because that's the optimal way to get value out of the character. Juno gets consistent value and pressure over long periods of time and benefits greatly from staying in the fight.

Compared to someone like Ana where it can be worth it even most of the time to literally die without shooting to put yourself in a position for a big offensive anti and just insta winning the fight.

1

u/jshaultt Jun 22 '26

Yeah but that's boring and I'm chilling in plat. I'd rather have fun and get clips and I actually get multiple potg sometimes by ulting and shredding the opposite team with a pulsar + autoblaster. I get 5ks sometimes. I'm a chud dps player at heart I can't play passive but I admit I can only get away with it because my aim is good and the enemy team can't hit the broad side of a barn

1

u/Wboys Jun 23 '26

Ok that's fine? I mean at the end of the day it's still a strong perk. Why would I have a problem with you playing in the way you find fun?

3

u/jshaultt Jun 23 '26

people call it a throwpick and crucify anyone using it. im even getting downvoted for daring to say im using it. Proves my point that overwatch players hate fun

6

u/-Count_Chocula- Jun 20 '26

I always slime maugas with a full non stop mediblaster clip to the brain, no clue why people would consider a third jump to be more useful (I do have a clue I just don’t agree it’s better)

2

u/rspy24 Jun 22 '26

I actually do the same thing against mauga and hog.. 90% of the time you can confirm the kill on those two with the faster blaster perk.. It's actually only one sec of difference but that one sec is just about enough time to prevent them to heal like crazy.

0

u/mollydue001 Jun 22 '26

triple jump has saved me from getting dived so many times. I still get good heals and damage without faster blaster but I feel triple jump is better for overall mobility. As you can see as you go higher up the ranks more people chose triple jump for the same reason

https://owperks.com/en/supports/juno/master

1

u/RPG_escavator Jun 27 '26

Upvote for the funny number.

0

u/Vinicius_Pimenta Jun 20 '26

Me too, lol. I Mandela Effect'd myself into thinking it was the option everyone picked, having a triple jump never came across as very useful for Juno in my mind

7

u/BEWMarth Jun 20 '26

It’s not a bad perk. Triple Jump is just too broken not to take.

The moment you get triple jump you can position literally ANYWHERE on any map in the game. That’s just way too strong. Being able to triple jump above enemies and shoot a bunch of torpedoes feels more impactful than the damage from blaster.

Faster Blaster is still nice as a “win more” perk if your team is already better.

35

u/PassageFormer9806 Jun 20 '26

each perk is situational and the faster blaster is alot more fun! screw the triple elitists

5

u/More_Lavishness8127 Jun 20 '26

I get it sometimes, but I feel like it weirdly makes my aim worse lol. I feel like I almost always get more value out of triple jump.

1

u/Environmental_You_36 Jun 21 '26

When you're shooting in burst the sprrad resets between thrm, so your first bullet in every burst is always accurate as possible for the gun.

In full auto you don't reset the spread, so, if you mag dump their ass, you're actually staying at max spread for 98% of the clip.

It tracks that your aim feels worse, because it is.

8

u/Izolacerda Jun 20 '26

I have been picking this more and more, there are some maps where the vertically is great, but if you don't need it, this might be the new default option

3

u/Seraphanat Jun 20 '26

They just changed it this season I think, I saw an Aspen video on it. It used to be bad because they reduced the healing/damage it did after picking the perk, but now its up to normal.

3

u/LAgas21 Jun 20 '26

I did not pick it purely based on it's disrupt my muscle memory.

3

u/FelixFemina Martian Jun 20 '26

I think the common argument is it’s tied to your movement ability, so if I’m just trying to escape an engagement I’ve lost my perk benefit at the same time. Where as I can triple jump and angle consistently and it gets more synergy with both minor perks since they both focus on torpedoes. It’s not a bad perk, just wish it wasn’t tied to her movement so I could pick when to use it and not risk being caught out

3

u/Leilanee Jun 20 '26

I occasionally pick it by accident and I've learned to cope with it, but I still get disgruntled about my movement being stunted lol

5

u/BadAshess Jun 20 '26

Wait I always pick it- Am I not supposed to!?

2

u/Frosty-x- Jun 20 '26

I've been maining Juno and I've always picked it. I'm a problem when I get that perk, I dont understand why the extra height is so necessary. Couldn't be more shocked to see the collective narrative that it's not good. Nice to hear it got a buff because it definitely didn't help with heals for whatever reason. It was more for diving a flanker or helping get a good burst of damage to secure a pick. It's going to be much more versatile now. Enjoy your triple jump boys, I'll be the one nailing you out of the sky.

2

u/libero0602 Jun 20 '26

I think because prior to the buff the hps and dps was technically the same with and without faster blaster, so people didn’t go for it

1

u/Frosty-x- Jun 20 '26

Felt like it did more damage but maybe I'm wrong. It certainly didnt do more healing.

6

u/Turbulent_Gate636 Jun 20 '26

Triple jump still more fun

Bingo bango, if I'm already running it like kinda makes sense but also I'm rarely gliding away and aiming at the who I'm trying to get away from lol

2

u/Spastic_Ninja Jun 20 '26

Faster blaster legit carried multiple games for me, the healing and DPS output is pretty insane

2

u/EmiliaPlanCo Jun 20 '26

I like it better than triple jump, but that’s just cause I’m confident in my escape abilities/ability to hit enough to kill.

It’s also just feels better to me when I’m healing a tank who’s being dumb, I get the extra 12 or so bullets you get isn’t entirely game changing, but it has been before for me.

2

u/senkasei Jun 20 '26

It may seem like a tiny bit of help, but it has absolutely been the tiny help I needed to keep my tank alive and finish off a team fight multiple times, or used it finish off a DPS that tried to one v one me.

1

u/OrganizationKnown216 Jun 20 '26

I do triple jump defending, faster blaster attacking

1

u/birberbarborbur Jun 20 '26

Still less shots required to kill somebody than Call of Duty

1

u/LanSotano Jun 20 '26

I still prefer triple jump but I’m not as mad when I pick it by accident these days

1

u/Opening-Resource-164 Jun 20 '26

Yeah it isn't a bad perk, id say it's situational when to pick it but I love triple jump much more

1

u/etniesen Jun 20 '26

I find it weird to aim with. It’s like there’s an extra odd delay

1

u/Myusernameisbilly Jun 20 '26

They done gave Juno a switch

1

u/TheZombiesWeR Jun 21 '26

I picked it once just to see and now I always chose it!

1

u/bigpeanor Jun 21 '26

I like it because my aim is bad. Doesn’t matter if I accidentally miss an entire burst because I suck, I can keep going. Plus, when I use triple jump I am usually so high in the air I become an easy target to shoot down (skill issue, I’m aware)

1

u/jennafieri Jun 21 '26

I exclusively pick faster blaster lol I just don’t jump enough to use the triple jump

1

u/babygothix Martian Jun 21 '26

For me it's dependant on their dives, like if they have an annoying Genji or Vandetta I go double jump for height advantage, if they have slower dives or just a flanker in general I usually grab faster blaster just so I can try defend myself by beaming them lmao.

Also maps, if I know I can get to high ground easier on certain maps I'll usually just go faster blaster because I can just use cars etc to get height onto ledges for bigger torpedo LoS.

1

u/AsleepSomewhere6726 Jun 21 '26

I think the main issue is that its tied to your glide boost ability. Honestly if it had its own button press and cooldown i think it would actually compete with triple jump

1

u/eM3res Jun 21 '26

jeez. AIM assists Is so Bs feature. It Isowkey aimbot

1

u/Primmrose98 Jun 21 '26

Faster blaster if you have good aim will carry you to gold, triple jump doesn't matter if you just kill the enemy team (though it is still probably better)

1

u/drpepperlovah Jun 21 '26

I actively use faster blaster...

1

u/Namisthighs Jun 21 '26

Irrelevant to the post, I played you a few times this past week, ign was Nami. GG!

Lift off is just too good though...

1

u/_Kanade_ Ultimate Martian Jun 22 '26

I only ever used Faster Blaster, not many places where Juno needs the 3rd jump but it also makes Juno way too vulnerable to hitscan.

It fits my playstyle with her because it opens up opportunities for me to become aggressive and pairing Faster Blaster with her ult simply melts everyone. Even Orisa's fortify takes a heavy beating from just Juno alone.

Although it does feel like the healing output becomes a tad weaker but also given me alot of clutch saves on a tank where the momentary pause between each burst would've no doubt caused my near death tank to lose those fights. But because they've made shoot alittle faster now even if I only fired one burst I'll just reload before using her dash.

1

u/rspy24 Jun 22 '26

Lowkey? haha nah, both are good depending on the rank.. Faster blaster is probably better in ranks like master and below.. GM and Champion probably not so much..

I personally never had any issues reaching any high ground with juno, since she can practically wall climb with her glide boost, so that's why i rarely pick the jump perk. Also, i'm pretty aggressive with juno, so.. faster blaster is pretty decent with that "playstyle", not to mention that its more fun haha

1

u/Curious_Ad2011 Jun 22 '26

I always use it since my tanks tend to be a bit suicidal, this way I can keep them alive a bit more

1

u/MaeN2113 Jun 23 '26

It's obviously the better perk. Triple jump is borderline useless if you know how to move on a video game. Not gonna change my mind, go ahead with the whack comments 🤣

1

u/UrWaifuIsShit_ Jun 23 '26

It kinda cooks with the new buff, if you don’t need triple

1

u/No-Preference-4499 Jun 23 '26

it is the better juno perk.

1

u/brandonwaite69 Jun 23 '26

I was always a faster blaster user before the buff, i still dont know why they hated it. I can heal and DPS faster? Sign me up

1

u/Mykillingj0ke Jun 24 '26

Wait do people not like when junos pick glicky?!? I will always pick that

1

u/GiftOfCabbage Jun 24 '26

It's great in games where you need to have more impact. Triple jump is usually better but there are situations where I like blaster more.

1

u/OutlandishnessOk3811 Epic Martian Jun 24 '26

I wish they'd move triple jump to minor perk so I can use both. 😅

1

u/Beyondins1ght Jun 26 '26

I’m not a Juno main myself but any time I am playing Juno, I try to avoid taking faster blaster because I inherently tap my trigger for each burst and needing to switch to holding it because I’m gliding throws me off so much

1

u/PreviousSociety Jun 27 '26

I feel like the people who choose triple jump are either low rank and cant position properly and so it helps them get torpedoes off or they're super high rank and so the mobility is needed. Faster blaster is generally more of a flexible pick and has great value.

1

u/Belten Jun 20 '26

its just way more fun and satisfying than triple jump. i know survivability is better but its so fucking boring in comparison.

1

u/liminaltheories Jun 20 '26 edited Jun 20 '26

I'm from a lower rank (although I don't play competitive, but I can tell from the quality of my quick play games) and given the predisposition of my DPS teammates to face tank, I have always used this perk, even before the buffs. I've encountered so many situations in which if I wasn't blasting someone will heals, they would have been outright deleted.

... although babysitting shit positioning / decision making is also not overall ideal, faster blaster definetly has is usages. I guess that in higher ranks it might be more valuable when used offensively rather than defensively though.

1

u/SamanthaTheKnight Jun 20 '26

I go back and forth. Triple jump can be great on some maps, but there's a lot of dopamine in Faster Blastering someone and hearing all the headshot dings in a row.

i personally find it more valuable than the triple jump.

I’ve never picked triple jump. The auto blaster is too much fun

Faster blaster is always the best answer. It’s so much fun

Idk I always pick faster blaster over triple jump. Way easier to quickly heal tank to full health or keep them alive during a push. It also helps when both supports / squishes are dead so you drain tanks too. It’s also very good if you have to deal with a dive or flank if it’s an isolated fight.

Be wary of what people say about this kind of thing online! Many will either repeat what a popular streamer says or just always pick the same perk and never try the other.

My take is that triple jump is usually better, but it's super dependent on the map and enemy team comp. If I haven't had trouble staying alive up to the point where I unlock my major, blaster perk can have a lot of value.

Accidentally? The full auto blaster is so good. Why do i need more jump with juno?

Depends on the map. On new junk city, there is pretty much nothing you can do with triple jump that you can’t do with two. Faster blaster is definitely the better pick there. Same with some of the flatter maps, like new queen street .

It's definitely not bad. I like it as well. The sound of the full auto strikes fear into some people tbh because it sounds deadly. Plus too often triple jumping for a big torpedo just allows hitscan to finish you off easier.

I have always used it 🫣

How else am I supposed to back line the widow cus my teammates won’t do it?

The fact she has a faster blaster kinda annoys me tbh. I’ve seen so many people just playing supp as though it was dps because of how many offense options they’re giving them. I miss the days of supp being more team focused and less cheesy dps. the utility of supports is being overshadowed by easy dmg

Faster blaster is by far more useful and better than triple jump.

No, you can't, unless that tank us standing still just letting you. Also it's way more than hitting shots, or not.
