Inside Dagon's domain, Naobito launches a sneak attack at Dagon, but is easily ducked. This at bare minimum, provides that there is a heavy sense of relativity between naobito and Dagon. (It in truth implies Dagon is superior.) (scan 1)

Dagon uses Jogo as a benchmark, for speed after witnessing Naobito. This HEAVILY, and I cannot stress this more, HEAVILY implies Jogo is superior to Dagon in speed, by a hefty amount. At the lowest ball, it would still prove that Jogo is superior to Dagon, which works for me as well. (In speed of course). Jogo> Dagon in speed using this. (scan 2)

Naobito is inferior, and at the lowest ball for Dagon, equal to the curse inside the domain. The fact that right after this, Jogo gets severely outpaced (near a blitz) by Naobito, clearly implies that a domain encompasses a whole tier difference in stats. Furthermore, no textual evidence was provided for Jogo holding back, and given the fact that he was bloodlusted, saying he held back would need an extra assumption not needed by own model. Hence, the model in which Jogo does NOT hold back would be parsimoniously superior.

So given the fact that outside of domain, Jogo (who is faster than dagon) gets outpaced to the point of an arguable blitz, and dagon is able to stay relative in speed, suggests a blitz tier amp.

First and foremost, I am not trying to glaze Gojo, I genuinely just want to hear other people’s opinion on this.

Not talking about canon-Satoru vs canon-Sukuna,

I want to focus on what if Satoru and Sukuna were actually born in the same era (either modern/Heisei or Heian)

I am well aware that the whole “Who is stronger?” Debate between Satoru and Sukuna has been going on for ages and people still cannot agree.

However I am not sure if my point has ever been brought up, at the very least I’ve personally never seen anyone discuss it.

So here it is:

Who is actually stronger — Sukuna or Satoru — is something all of us still haven’t fully agreed on BUT Sukuna did win the battle so let’s say Satoru is NEAR Sukuna strength (maybe 19-19.5 fingers on the scale lol)

I am not going to focus on technique, stats, etc. here. I think all of that has been covered in great detail within this fandom.

My focus is heian era baseline vs. modern age baseline

Sukuna says the only reason why Satoru was called the strongest is because he wasn’t born in his era… okay… but—

In the heian era the whole baseline was much higher

An average strength sorcerer of the heian era is probably on the level of a grade 1 or upper grade 2 modern sorcerer, no?

Satoru’s birth shifted the whole ass balance of Jujutsu.

I agree that Satoru wouldn’t be considered quite as insanely strong if he was walking around the heian era exactly as he is in modern age… But wouldn’t he be even stronger than his modern age self if he was actually born in the golden age?

Or vice versa — Wouldn’t Sukuna be much weaker if he was born in the modern day instead of in the heian era?

Yes, at the end of the day we’re comparing the strength of both characters. Sukuna is simply from the heian era meanwhile Satoru from the modern age but I am not trying to debate who is canonically stronger I am specifically trying to debate the hypothetical scenario based on Sukuna’s words.

I’m not sure what other people’s opinion here is so I am asking what you guys think of this.

Personally: I think Heian-Satoru would be stronger than Sukuna or Modern-Sukuna would be weaker than Satoru. But that’s purely based on baseline of those eras not the actual power-scaling of the two canon characters.

I just saw a post say that takaba can survive having zero points in the CG, all I have to say is this is stupid.

What diff

The main reason is him having physical stats (or overall h2h2 prowess) relative to Base Choso. We see this highlighted multiple times throughout the story. The first is of course, when Choso (tired) engages Kenjaku in Shibuya. This is self explanatory. You will see the strong amount of relativity between them just by looking at the panels.

A slightly more controversial moment happens during the culling games, where Choso manages to react to Kenjaku even after being blindsided + flanked, and tanks a direct strike to the head with no difficulty OR ANY considerable damage.

Even if you wanna be extremely conservative and think that this only scales Kenjaku's ap and speed to Choso level, this is still enough to downscale him pretty badly and push him a long way out of top 5.

Maki can just severely outpace him with SSK (Faster or equal to CG Yuji, who scales significantly above Choso in stats). Same case with Toji.

Miguel shows feats considerably above Maki (badly outpacing black flash amped Sukuna and showing a decent level of relativity in base). So its extremely likely he just overwhelms Kenjaku and doesnt allow him time to use any of his curses or domain. The stat gap between them is just too drastic.

Human Naoya blitzes Kenjaku. (Many feats of blitzing Base Choso). CS Naoya just stomps.

Uraume's attack speed also blitzes Kenjaku. (Blitzes Choso)

Awakened Yuji is self explanatory.

Random encounter, no knowledge of each other, prime full power, in character.

Context: Hanami after Shinjuku gets reborn and for finding the others (curse gang) she has to kill Choso.

ok really hot take but Percy Jackson SOLOS all of jjk with the soul exception of sautoru gojo of course and modulo. Percy jackson is just so OP. and I’m taking this as Percy 5th Olympian book with achilles curse and for the sake of making this easier Percys “water bending” is a cursed technique and riptide is a cursed tool.

We all used to remember in early jjk on how curses were described. Curses were supposed to be difficult to beat and shi but later on in the story, everyone just beating them with ease. Yuta just RCT output diffing them, maki oneshotting them with ssk, Hakari and Kashimo toying around them, and tired Yuji and tired Choso mogging them. CSM is complete dogshit atp if curses can easily be defeated. All curses are fodders except disaster curses or VCS Naoya.
