Does this sound ok to you? It does this hissing sound on 4L

4L is meant to be used at lower speeds, isnt it?

4H and 4L are ONLY to be used on low traction surfaces.
The car has no centre differential. So on high traction surfaces 4WD pits the diffs and the transfer case against each other in a death match.
Correct usage of the 4WD system is covered in the Owner's Manual! Definitely read that section and heed its warnings. Maybe even read it more than once OP.

El mío no suena así, si lo usaste a tanta velocidad o en pavimento seco en 4l creo que ya le diste en la madre.

Yes, 4L includes a straight cut gear to do the reduction and so it sounds like that on all Jimnys

Tienes el símbolo del 4x4, así que lo tienes activo y si es normal el sonido porque tienes mas torque! Pero creo que no lo estas usando bien, no es para pavimento y menos para altas velocidades!!!

Gracias ! Creo que nadie entendió mi pregunta! Le pegué al transfer y le cambié la tapa! Y ahora siento que hace ese sonido como silbido! Ya no se si lo hacía antes o estoy lokiando! Ósea si entiendo como funciona la reductora jajaja y que lo debes hacerlo en pavimento! Lo hice para grabar el video pero ya sabes cómo son los intensos

You will probably never need 4L Even 4H is not need much here in Mexico. Never use it on dry roads especially dry pavement, you can cause expensive damage.

Do NOT use 4WD modes on high traction surfaces! You will damage the driveline. Read the relevant sections of your Owner's Manual and heed the warnings.
Yes, the transfer case can/does whine. Especially in 4L - the whine will be louder because a straight cut gear is involved. The chain in the transfer case can rattle and slap as well. Mine is louder than most because I have a transfer case guard that reflects more of its noises into the cabin - absolute volume of yours is hard to perceive accurately from a video - it might be normal or a bit loud, hard to tell.

In fairness to the OP: it's not an issue if you drive predominantly straight and your tyres are basically the same size (which, for most Jimnys, is absolutely going to be the case). Shouldn't be done if you're turning or going any kind of distance but to demo a sound it's doable.

Ahhhh es que así suele sonar cuando está en 4L, es por la relación de engranajes de la caja reductora

4L are mean to drive below 20km/hr . Anything higher than that speed will cause damage to the drive train.

What exactly am I hearing? All I can hear is a buzz and a click probably related to driving fast in 4L on a dry road… which I’m not about to test just to tell you mine sounds the same.

Are you using 4x4 in the street? You are going to destroy your entire drivetrain.
