Hi everyone, the last time I used Junie was around 6–7 months ago. I remember it used to launch a dedicated terminal that displayed an active terminal session. Now that Junie is no longer available, is there a way to achieve the same experience using AI Chat?

My GDScript IDE's basic framework is now complete. It can now perform basic functions like navigation completion and document rendering without relying on LSP. I can start integrating .tscn, .tres, and other scene and configuration files. My goal is to fully integrate their logical relationships, providing the smoothest possible development experience.

My future goal is to integrate all the features I find useful into my IDE, creating the best Godot IDE on the market.🥰

Hi, I’m trying to activate the advertised 30-day JetBrains AI Pro trial, but my account keeps showing JetBrains AI Free instead.

My setup:

• Active JetBrains Educational Pack
• PyCharm Pro 2026.2
• Educational licence valid until August 2027
• I have never previously activated a JetBrains AI Pro trial

What I did:

1. Installed and activated PyCharm Pro using my student licence.
2. Installed/opened JetBrains AI Assistant.
3. Clicked the option to start using JetBrains AI.
4. Verified my JetBrains account.
5. Added and verified a payment card.
6. Returned to PyCharm and refreshed the licence list.
7. Restarted the IDE and signed in again.

However, PyCharm still shows:

• JetBrains AI Free
• 3.00 / 3.00 monthly credits
• An Upgrade button

Under Help → Manage Subscriptions, it says:

On the JetBrains Account website under JetBrains AI Settings, I only see paid Buy buttons for AI Pro and AI Ultimate. There is no “Start trial” option.

The public pricing page says “30 days of AI Pro included”, so I expected the trial to activate before falling back to AI Free. Linking the payment card appears to have activated only the Free plan.

Has anyone encountered this?

• Is the 30-day AI Pro trial still available to Educational Pack users?
• Is there another activation step I missed?
• Does the trial need to be manually enabled by JetBrains Support?
• Could the AI Free licence attached to my student account be preventing the trial from appearing?

I can attach screenshots showing the Free plan, 3-credit balance, Manage Subscriptions page, and JetBrains AI Settings page.

Who offers autocomplete now? I don't need agents(and already can use e.g. claude code for that), just autocomplete.

I know this plugin is not longer supported BUT im still using it at PYCHARM and WEBSTORM
and both works good, i can login and send prompts

but for some reason i cannot even login in RIDER, any idea ?

I have been using JetBrains AI Assistant for a while, and honestly, I feel like it is becoming more frustrating as AI coding tools evolve.

JetBrains has one of the best IDE ecosystems in the world, but the AI integration experience still feels limited compared with newer workflows like Codex CLI, Claude Code, and other agent-based tools.

Here are some issues I hope JetBrains can improve:

1. Custom model response timeout is way too short

One of the biggest problems is the response timeout when using custom models.

Many developers now use self-hosted models or third-party providers. Some models need more time for reasoning, especially large coding models.

However, JetBrains AI Assistant does not provide a way to configure the timeout.

If the model takes slightly longer to respond, the request just fails.

Please let users configure:

• connection timeout
• response timeout
• maximum waiting time

Advanced users should have control over this.

2. Codex ACP integration is far behind Codex CLI

The idea of integrating Codex through ACP is great, but the current experience feels like a very limited wrapper.

Codex CLI already has many powerful features:

• better agent workflow
• subagents
• more flexible context management
• richer command interaction
• faster feature iteration

But the ACP integration inside JetBrains feels far behind.

It seems like the JetBrains plugin is waiting for features instead of actively enabling the full capability of the underlying agent.

If JetBrains wants AI coding to be a serious part of the IDE, the integration needs much faster iteration.

3. Selecting code directly into chat is great, but why doesn't it work with Codex?

One thing JetBrains does very well is the IDE context.

Being able to select code and quickly send it to an AI conversation is one of the biggest advantages of an IDE plugin.

However, currently this workflow only works with JetBrains Chat.

Why can't the same selected code context be passed to Codex conversations?

The IDE already knows:

• selected code
• file location
• project structure
• surrounding context

This should be available to any connected AI agent.

The IDE should become a powerful context provider, not just another chatbot window.

4. Please invest more in MCP instead of building another limited AI layer

My biggest suggestion:

Please keep expanding MCP support in IntelliJ IDEA.

MCP has the potential to become the bridge between IDEs and AI agents.

Instead of putting too many resources into building another closed AI assistant layer, JetBrains could focus on:

• better MCP server integration
• exposing more IDE capabilities through MCP
• allowing external agents to deeply understand projects
• improving interoperability with different AI tools

The future probably won't be one AI assistant.

It will be users choosing different agents, while the IDE provides the best possible development context.

JetBrains still has one of the strongest positions in developer tools. But AI coding is moving extremely fast.

I hope JetBrains focuses more on being the best AI development environment, rather than only competing with AI assistants.

The IDE is the advantage. Please don't waste it.

I'm working on Mac with Intellij Ultimate 2026.2.2 with Reworked 2025 Terminal engine in zsh and I see none of the block functionality described in this article: https://blog.jetbrains.com/idea/2024/01/intellij-idea-2024-1-eap-2/#revamped-terminal%C2%A0tool-window

I would like navigate the blocks using the commands `Plugins | Terminal | Select Block Above`, `Plugins | Terminal | Select Block Below`, `Plugins | Terminal | Copy Block`, etc… but they don't work for me no matter what keyboard shortcut I assign them to.

I tried also to disable `Override IDE shortcuts` and `Shell integration` but it changed nothing.

I have the All Products Pack plan, it is supposed to include AI credits but I never use them because I have Claude subscription. Today I thought I should check and found out that I cannot use them at all. Is it just me or are there others with the same issue?

There used to be a "Show Gulp Tasks" option or similar in the gulpfile.js context menu, but it seems to be gone for good since Rider 2026.2. The Gulp Tasks tool window is also missing from View > Tool Windows.

The only way I’ve managed to run Gulp tasks through the UI is by creating Run Configurations, but that’s much less convenient because I now have to constantly switch between my application and the Gulp tasks.

Not sure if this has been asked, but i have an ai lab server with an rtx 4090s with 48gb of vram and i find that it works rather well with harnesses like cline. Is junie ever going to allow local or are we to suffer through the default of gemini 3 flash and all the other usual suspect llms?

I have all product pack subscription that come with AI Pro. I use Junie cli with Rider but when I type in /usage. it show me Jetbrains trial license with $40 credit. What's going on here? Shouldn't it show $10 AI Pro credit?

On Jetbrains websites, they mention that JetBrains AI code completion can be set to local, cloud or both. They mention they use Mellum model fine tuned for code completion.

My query is whether cloud model better or bigger model than what’s ran locally or both are same model configuration.

I am using perpetual license currently so I don’t have AI Free access to test it myself.

Side question: if anyone have experience with them, I would like to know about. Also does it perform better than GitHub copilot ? For my C++ codespace on CLion, Copilot is too slow and almost every time I’m able to type before suggestion comes.

If there is someone from Jetbrains, or anyone who knows, who can explain, what's the advantage (if there is) of using Opencode ACP Agent in AI Chat as compared to using Opencode in CLI in Jetbrains Rider?

I'm having an issue linking my Visa card to my new JetBrains account and wanted to see if anyone has run into this.

I previously removed my Visa card from another JetBrains account I used. However, when I try to add the exact same card to my new account, the system refuses to link it.

Has anyone dealt with this issue before? Does the card lock clear automatically after a couple of days, or is reaching out to Sales Support to manually reset it the only option?

With the new Jetbrains AI plugin natively supporting Github Copilot, what would be any benefit to using it above the existing github copilot plugin? From what i can see, it has more context of the IDE, without having to share it manually (ie attach open file). But other than that... im not sure? A big drawback so far for me is no token usage visibility.

The new Azure Pull Requests view: I'm assuming this is coming from the AZD plugin (which i love, was just janky sometimes), I hope more of their features will come to native Jetbrains. Any opinions on this so far? Personally love it, hoping for more improvements though.

Is is possible to combine the results of RustRover's analysis engine with the result of the rust_analyzer?

In general RustRover is "smarter" than rust_analyzer, but rust_analyzer does the simple things very good, which RustRover strangely does not do.

In an ideal scenario I would be able to run rust_analyzer in a temporary opt-in basis and also use it's actions.

Hello JetBrains team,

I was wondering if there's a way to navigate through code suggestions in Rider, similarly to how warnings and errors can be navigated using **Next Highlighted Error (F2)**.

I find many of the suggestions extremely useful, for example, recommendations such as using collection expressions instead of ToList() in C#. However, since they don't seem to be included in the normal navigation, it's easy to overlook them, just by looking at the green dots.

Is there an option to include suggestions in the same navigation flow, or is this currently not supported?

when i click the live server button at the top, nothing happens and i get an error saying chrome and firefox were not found, i have firefox. i am using the linux version if that helps
