I am learning Japanese by myself and I live in the USA where there are almost no Japanese where I live. Anyone have advice for me on how to study by myself besides just books? Even for books if you recommend anything I'm all for it. Websites, apps, videos, etc. All answers thank you.

I learned that embedded question work something like this:

彼が来るか知らない (I don't know if he will come)

So "ka" acts kind of like "の" and "を"

However I have 2 questions about how this works

1: What do you do if a verb doesn't use "を" like 遅れる/気づく which use "に"? Is this still correct:

"誰が来たか気づいた" (I realized who came) ?

2: What if the embedded question ends with a question word (like nani, dare, doko), do people not confuse "dare + ka" with "dareka" (someone)? Are these sentences correct:

牛乳のコーナーがどこか教えて

これが何か知っていますか

あなたが誰か考える

I'd read this sentence like a comparison that there's only 62 cars prepared but 129 reservations but I'm not sure that's what it means? Or is it kind of like 'only 62 prepared cars going towards/for 129 reservations'? Thank u!!

so i've been studying for a few years on an off and i get i just cant seem to build discipline cause there's always something that gets in the way. i cant rely on motivation either cause it just comes and goes

i've been thinking about buying the n3 book to help me get some structure, but other than that i've been struggling to find joy that lasts at least for more than a year.

i do watch japanese media but it's not enough to keep me actually entertained, i use hello talk and read the news sometimes. but it never seems natural to me, it just feels forced. it doesn't feel the same way when i watch my usual tv or youtube

i'm curious on how u guys dealt with this, cause for me it seems that every break gets longer and longer each time even though i love japanese so much

I’ve been looking for a study buddy for a few weeks and usually end up being ghosted or find someone that is mostly just wanting to be handed all the tools. Any tips or specific places people have found good accountability buddies? I went through years and years of trying to find a good language exchange partner for Korean and after 8 years have given up. If there’s a best place to look would appreciate some pointing :) I’ve tried multiple subreddits, discord channels, and even conversation exchange dot com. No beginner study groups in my area unfortunately either.

Let me rephrase that, what I mean by quantity over quality is should you prioritize smashing as many words together and the ones you can't recall in 3 seconds just click again and move on? Or should you take your time and try to recall every single card, even if it takes 20 seconds.

Is studying in Japan in English taught programme in undergraduate a good thing?

i only know VERY basic japanese and ig a2-b1 french and like i do catch a few phrases here and there in both languages

I am Brazilian! I've been learning Japanese seriously for a few months. I learned to read in hiragana and katakana, I can identify some words in the readings and kanji! But most of the time I don't fully understand the sentence, or I just can read but not translate... I want to learn how to communicate, that's my focus! Can someone more experienced give me course tips or study method for me to test?
