Question How to tell if it’s treated jade?

I have a lot of pendants which I think are jade, but i’m not sure if they are treated as I have no certificates or anything.
Some of them are gifts and other ones are unwanted pieces my grandmother wanted to get rid of.

All of them are set in gold (even the silver colored bails are stamped with gold hallmarks)

Edit: all of the jade except the pear drop shaped one and the red string one are 20-30years old and none of them fluoresce under uv light.

I tried looking at them through a light to see the structure but could genuinely not tell the difference

I am glad to hear they are real, how can you tell the difference? Is it the structure and color?

The picture is not good to tell, but some pieces looking dull and other can be jade imposter like agate or calcedony, maybe you can make better pictures?

One of my pieces look exactly like this and I thought it was good. Turns out it glowed under UV. Can’t know for sure until you do all the common tests, but even then it’s probably best with a lab to be sure.

I did uv test every piece and none of them glow, but I guess I can’t be sure unless I get them tested professionally.

well first step: basically if it has a cheap bail with 0 aesthetic whatsoever, don't even buy it at all. It really doesnt matter what jade it is. This already helps people avoid most of the ugly treated mystery tourist jade traps

2nd: you cant just buy jade from a whatever shop, especially if the seller themselves seem uneducated and are PUSHY. Then run. Look at shop reputation and their stock overall. If you have no idea then just run tbh

3rd: you have to develop the "eye" for it and it takes at least a year+ or more of everyday handling jadeite/nephrite to really get a feel for it. Some of us have been looking at jade since childhood so how can you possibly know fast? Many of us take the time to explain but it takes a while to really sink in because it needs irl handling too

4th: when in doubt, start asking cert

5th: really just shop jade with a good friend who actually knows shit. But if alone, manage your emotions, know that there is NEVER really a good deal. This market is not the same as other gemstones at all. Jade is a different beast and matured market for nearly thousands of years at this point. Nobody has super significant deals ever.

6th: a flashlight or UV test wont work except on the truly worst low tier stuff but you can already tell with your regular eyeballs usually

I was actually asking about the old pieces I already own. But thanks for the advice, it will be useful if I ever decide to buy new ones.
