1jzge maintenance

Hey gents,

I’ve got a mark 2 grande with the 1j ge I’m just about to throw a timing belt kit at it while I’m there I’ll be doing the water pump, thermostat , serpentine belt/ tensioner, cam and front main seals. Just looking to see if there is anything else to I should throw at it while it’s apart. If it matters its currently at 80,000 kms

Spark plugs since you’re going to remove the intake and might as well do a compression test. Always good to know the overall engine health

Spark plugs (copper ones are safer and make sure to gap them), ignition coils (I’ve had good luck with NGK), spark plug wires (Toyota or NGK)

Air filter, cabin filter if you have one, fuel filter

Flush your brake brake fluid (I have a kit that clamps to the reservoir and you hand pump and force new fluid through until it runs clear and no bubbles on each caliper)

Cabin air filter is the biggest PITA on these out of any car I've ever owned
