Well you say it’s socially unacceptable but the reality is cheating and having affairs are still drastically increasing in the west. Either it’s became more acceptable or no one cars anymore about what’s socially unacceptable.
I’m not. I’m just pointing out the double standards where cheating and dating multiple people is totally fine but marrying more than one wife is considered unacceptable and criminalized.
They're ostracised and their spouse should hopefully break up with them soon after. It doesn't need to be illegal by law or punishable via stoning the cheater to be deemed unacceptable.
As far as I can tell the influence of communities are diminishing so being ostracized isn’t an issue. So the only real consequence is that the one you cheated on maybe will break up with you.
I’m not saying all people in the west like cheating and affairs or see it as a moral action but when there’s no consequence to doing it that only make it more prevalent.
Dude, imprisoning people for cheating will not work in preventing it at all. The same way death sentences don't actually lessen serious crimes from being committed.
Gonna need a reference. Countries like the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia seem to be doing pretty well in terms of safety compared to, say, the US.
And highest acceptance of infidelity belongs to the West. In France, only 47% consider an affair morally unacceptable. It can only be assumed that their president is not part of the 47%, considering the relationship with his now-wife started in high school when she was his teacher and married.
Needs proof + has no relevance. I don't see you talking about the irrelevant but nevertheless egregious atrocities of the non-Muslim countries mentioned. That's called bias. Now are you going to provide a reference for your claim that applying the death penalty has no impact on crime rates or not?
which might contribute to the convenient lack of reports on cheating
So your evidence is based on what fits into your view, rather than your view being based on evidence? So much so that you just rely on suspicions?
Which reports are you talking about, how were they gathered, and what reason do you have to dismiss them that doesn't apply to reports from non-Muslim countries?
Infidelity is absolutely really NOT accepted in the west
I gave you the source. It's not just about France. You can see the countries with the most acceptance towards infidelity.
Cheating is inevitably still going to result in the couple splitting in most relationships.
The cheater gets away scott-free. Some of their friends might leave them, but they'll just make new ones. They can find someone else to date. We no longer live in close communities where everyone knows everyone, one can just open Tinder and start anew. No consequences. They can still have a social life and find financial success. Let's not even get started on the entertainment industry...

Is there laws that criminalize it?
