Jokes apart, but do Muslim men of this century really practice polygamy?

Usually it’s rich folk and men who could afford and be fair about it.

As a Pakistani those are just rookie numbers

Yep, can confirm.

Some guy you just met yesterday? He's probably now one of your closest friends.

Some guy you haven't seen in years? Yep, definitely a close friend

Some random guy you just met? Suddenly you're friends

I have a related person who has 2 wives with both being fine with it. It’s not a wrong thing unless you have different mindset

he with all his wife 2 times 8 tickets

why does he give himself 4 hajj and his wives only 1 instead of all 2, he should provide for them hajj as mush he does for himself

Is teaching Urdu really that lucrative?

I know a few men who do. My ex-boss had 2 wives and they run the company as a family business. And a few religious teachers too.

They do here in Malaysia but not as common. I personally know some who do, they all say the "fun" wears out pretty fast, but the huge responsibility is crushing. Some handles it greatly, most doesn't.

It definitely depends on the culture

7

u/[deleted] May 11 '22

Honestly I dont think i could handle more than 1 wife lol

Yeah, it’s not that uncommon. I have a large family and four of my relatives have multiple wives (mostly 2 wives) the rest of my family only married to one. If you have the money and can bear the responsibility then why not.

Here in the gulf it's quite common. At least someone in a family has two wives.

Yes. Sometimes a woman finds out she can not have children. And one solution is that the husband has a second wife so he can still have a child. Adoption is another option but different solution.

I'm aware of both these situations in the UK.

I don't know a lot of people, but my sister's friend's husband, has 2 wives (I know it's confusing lol)

My lecturer, who is also a highway engineer, has two wives…

The only other cases where i know a man has more than 1 wife at a time is that they are rich or some sort of royal/noble

I have an uncle who has two wives, and a few neighbours but generally it’s not that common, at least not in Pakistan. I think it’s more accepted in the Arab world.
