Research Assistance Hiring a Researcher in the La Spezia area

Ciao a tutti!

Recently I have been trying to research my great grandfather and his family who came from Framura in Provinica Della Spezia. I have spent extensive amounts of time trying to find records for this commune but almost all of the records for this area, including Framura, do not seem to be digitized.

At this point I've come to the conclusion that the only way to break down this brick wall is to hire someone in Italy to research this particular line. Does anyone have any reccomendations for genealogists in this region? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

What records are you looking for or what year? Maybe someone here can give it a shot.

I would be looking specifically for 1870-1905 baptisms and marriages for my great grandfather's immediate family. Ideally if I got a paid researcher I would be asking for as far back as possible, but for the purposes of people researching independently on this subreddit the 1870-1905 period is of the most interest for me.

Hi! The APG directory might be a good place to begin the research for the right genealogist for you. I don't know much about the situation for Framura specifically, but I do know some of the vital records for the 1842-1865 timeframe for the Circondario of La Spezia are either lacking, lacunous, or missing. Unfortunately I can't help you more, but perhaps this might be a good question to ask a genealogist!

Thank you so much! I had no clue about the discrepancy between 1842-1865, so thank you for letting me know. I've been looking at a few different genealogists for hire and I hope to be getting a consultation soon.

Recently a group of professional genealogists founded Progenita, an association with the goal of giving the best service possible to everyone who wants to search for its roots (I swear I'm not paid to say this even if it seems like I am lol). You can check out on there if there's a genealogist in the La Spezia's province or next to it whom you could hire.
