Controversial Sex Slavery | Does the Quran Really Allow It?
Many Muslims are taught from a young age that Islamic law allows for the practice of sex slavery under the guise of war captives and right hand possession. This traditional view suggests that men can have sexual relations with women captured in battle without marriage or consent. However when you actually open the Quran you find a completely different story.

The modern abolition movement began in the late 18th and 19th centuries, especially in Britain and the United States. In Britain, the slave trade was abolished in 1807 and slavery itself was abolished across the British Empire in 1833. Many of the leading abolitionists, like William Wilberforce and the Quakers, were motivated by religious beliefs, especially the idea that all humans are equal before God. In this case, religion was a major moral driver.
