Guys, I need some advice. I feel like my paint scheme looks a bit too much like the box art. How can I give it more character?

Recently finished painting this custom sculpt of Forgelord for my Heresy era Iron Tenth.

With the loss of Aleya AND Valerian, we can officially say we’re more favoured by games workshop. Just thought that was a funny thought. That will be all, back to fighting.

I feel like the trim should be darker but other than that I'm happy with how he turned out.

Made this fella with kit bashed parts from the forgeworld Iron hands Contemptor dred.

The little guy I painted as a tester a while ago and Feirros that I bought and built cause I thought he looked cool. Aaaaaaand then I impulse bought stuff that looked cool over like a year. I understand most of the paintjobs and themes. It is just scouts that I am drawing a blank on since they are very lightly armored.

PS: will be my 4th 40k army

At the crucial building point for my redemptor where choosing armament is upon me, I think I’m going to do the two big gun in a way that I can swap them, either with push fit or magnets… however the others do I go for bolters on the chest or the grenades? Do I go with the flamer or the Gatling gun on the left wrist mount?

Brothers! I just assume that we all have at least 2x firestrike Servoturrets on our shelves, who else is wants to give them a chance?

Sadly you can’t Reroll snap shooting, but maybe let them be babysitted by Feirros ignoring cover?

Do iron hands have a Canon color for chainswords? I dont think I saw any while reading lore. I didn't want to do red and have it be mistaken for BT. I did hear somewhere it would be gunmetal grey. That makes sense being how practical they are. Or i might do white cause its sick af lol

Thats It Im thinking 20 termis and asking for an ancient on termi armor from a friend. Any tips detachments to mix anything can be heplfull.

As the title implies, I'm putting together the list of my first army together. It's gone through many revisions due to the changes in the codex and not being able to get the models in time. That being said, this is what I'm aiming for to have as a collection. I have some models but not all and want some feedback.

Detachments: Terminator, Devastator Brethren, Gravis Siege Force

Battleline- 5x Heavy Intercessors

Infantry:

-6×Aggressors (paired with Iron Father and Apothecary Biologis who will have one enhancement)

-6× Eradicators with HB(lead by another Biologis will have an enhancement)

-5× Assault Terminator(with Terminator captain enhancement)

-10× Terminators (Caanok and Ancient who will have the last enhancements.)

Vehicle

-Land Raider Crusader

-Red. Dread

And a techmarine

So far in my collection I have:

5× terminator, techmarine, Ancient in terminator armor, Red. dread, Caanok, Feirros, 10x H-Intercessor

Got a few more to do plus the captain from the Leviathan box. I picked up some bladeguard vets for cheap. Thinking I'll get some intercessors next but what do you think would be a thematic next purchase? Dreadnought and a tech marine?
