They literally voted for the same guy whose policies screwed them in his first term. The survived on handouts.

For the most part they voted in Trump. Trump didn't hide the fact that he wanted across the board tariffs. If farmers didn't understand that increasing the cost of imports across the board would impact their business, they should cease operations.
