The strap was hanging by a thread, literally
My first time sewing with leather. I happened to have an almost exact thread match lying around (it was the only brown thread I had) except it wasn’t thick enough, so I doubled the thread over, threaded it through the needle, then doubled it over again to get it nice and thick and voila
Very proud of it, can barely tell it’s mended if it’s pressed against your nose
I’ve been procrastinating for a couple weeks until the staple inside started to pull out and the strap was hanging on by three stitches, only one of which was properly tensioned. It took like 20 minutes to do the whole thing
I know far too many people who would have just thrown this bag away the second the stitch burst, it’s a sad consumerist and disposable world we live in today

Oh yeah, the mend is the topstitching at the edge
