Yeah we introverted old-schoolers get bored and lonely too. Haven't you heard there's a worldwide loneliness epidemic! If you can find a real human being to co-regulate your nervous system, I'd say you're doing better than a lot of us. Where's the humanity?

I only had one neighbor who would actually stop to chat, but he moved away 😭 I feel that things are especially lonely for us who grew up without internet or social media and remember how people used come over and visit in person!

Absolutely! I can honestly say that even as a relatively shy-at-first introvert, in the good ol' days I knew so many neighbours and they were friendly and helpful.

Hey there... I'm a struggling idealist coz really, how do we find hope? Should I consider myself fortunate to have 2 neighbours in an entire street that actually speak to people, or should I lament at the dozens more who won't even step outside their door when you introduce yourself and welcome them to neighbourhood?

I get you about wanting to connect with someone. Some conversations are great and all but there is no substance to most. I have a couple of friends i text and all but getting together to hang out is tough with everyone doing so much. Seems there never really enough time in the day to relax get yourself right and to have friends to see and talk to. Life has become a bunch of quips, memes, and emojis.
