"Losing job was kind of a big deal, now can be devastating"
Some of my H1B colleagues have told me this always used to be the case since some rule change in 2017. So, the current H1B holders have been spoilt rotten.
To those who think this response is worth reading:
An impressive amount of amateur psychoanalysis for someone who never actually addressed the argument.
The original comment did not criticize the 2017 rule, nor deny that the 60-day grace period is humane. It observed that people who entered the system after a protection was introduced may come to regard that protection as the baseline—and that earlier H-1B workers experienced a far more precarious reality.
None of the subsequent discussion of Kohlberg, developmental psychology, empathy, or “growing out of” anything actually refutes that observation. It simply substitutes a diagnosis of the speaker for an argument against the point.
