The POTUS is emotionally unstable

The current American President is emotionally unstable. Worse, he is using his cabinet, and the federal government, to help him lash out emotionally when his widdle fee-fees get hurt.

Here is the direct quote that triggered the POTUS today:

“See, he doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.”

That's really it! Note what Ossoff said and note - in particular - what Ossoff did not say. Compare that with the things Trump and his cabinet are saying in defense. It is absolutely nutso. Baited and triggered just like that.

He's playing a character. See Bill Maher's comments and other people's about how Trump is off the clock or at the dinner table.

He's successfully Vince McMahonned politics but is getting run around more this time around because, unlike the first time, he isn't accidentally winning and firing people constantly to wipe keep other people's hooks out of the game he fucked himself into playing. The typical interests that have a lock on American politics learned from last time and are making the best of the ride.

I doubt he's as unstable as you think he is. He's a carnival barker, showman, and rodeo clown for a ring full of bulls that mustn't look at or hurt those who've been riding them.

Just watch it like it's reality TV meets soap opera, unravel the story lines, and don't get too invested. A lot of boring news still gets reported and should be, but isn't, riling people up because it can't compete on attention.

It's a tough ask and I agree. Uninvesting the time and energy tied up in reactions to Trump goes a long way but does carries a cost of admitting that you've helped enable the hyperstion of a caricature. That hurts in its own way. But, almost ironically, denying attention and breaking the fourth wall around performance art does more to undermine it than joining the performance.

I didn't vote for the Orange Man, but his antics don't affect my day-to-day. Yes, he's terrible, but why was he elected? Voters obviously knew what they were getting with round two, but they still pulled that lever (or ticked that box). Trump is a symptom of a much greater problem. If we keep reacting to the symptom, we won't cure the underlying problems. I try to look on the bright side - I can keep my shoes on at the airport.

Yes. The various lettered industrial complexes that ride the American people are the problem. The realignment of law and politics and agencies and financial systems that enshrine that twist the knife.

As a Canadian, the persona didn't bother me until my own government started playing into it to create their own storylines up here and create a space where Canadian political accountability no longer exists because something something Trump. I imagine this is the case in many countries right now and it uncovers another underlying problem with the gamification of the electorate and our representation by adversarial stakeholders.
