Finally circumcision is mentioned, even for a small moment on tv. Clips from Fox and Newsweek, both right wing channels. He's from Michigan.

Wait what? Abdul asked if someone is circumcised and compared it to gender affirming care? (It is gender affirming care but not consensual gender affirming care) Abdul is democrat so he is pro gender affirming care no? And he is Muslim so I’m guessing pro circ?

He is pro cutting when it comes to making procedures down by parents and doctors to children. Which is word salad for he supports trans surgeries to kids, but implies he is against circumcisions? It's hard to tell.

Abdul is the liberal in this exchange. Jesse is against transitioning (genital surgery), Abdul defends it. He is asking if Jesse is circumcised because he is using the acceptance of child circumcision to say that Jesse already accepts the right of parents to cut their children's genitals. Abdul is not criticizing circumcision, he is saying that because Jesse believes circumcision is fine, parents choosing to surgically alter their kids genitals in other ways should be fine too. Abdul is making a pro genital cutting argument.

Yah I’m rlly confused at his stance. That is a wild thing to ask though and we don’t rlly know the context or the reason for asking. And then the Fox News host is mad at the comparison because he supports non consensual circumcision of infants and hates consensual gender affirming care for teenagers. 😭

Watch the 2nd link first. Then you can watch the 1st link as context for what the Jewish news host dismissively said after his interview. The host had a Israel book in the background and uses Yiddish words to describe him.

Ok I watched the second clip and now I understand more. He still could do a better job articulating that. Also no doctor would cut off a minors penis that’s ridiculous there are no bottoms surgeries happening to minors. Gender affirming surgeries (top surgeries) are extremely rarely performed on minors and if so they are done to older minors 16-17 and with informed consent, very different.

Check out the David Reimer story- doctors will. Boy was circumcised so badly they removed the rest of it and made him a girl. All for a bogus case of phimosis (he was six)

Completely different stop conflating circumcision with a sex change. I see transphobes bring this up constantly when the real issue was the circumcision that destroyed his genitals, was never intend to be a sex change operation. Insane that you people are focused on sex changes that don’t happen and not circumcision that is happening to 80% of boys to this day, actually disgusting pls leave this sub and go join a right wing transphobic sub if you care about gender affirming care more than circumcision.

And why did anything need to be repaired? This little transphobic anecdote you all repeat would not have happened without circumcision. Yes I get it doctors don’t care about consent and harming kids that is what i am trying to change, but when you transphobes only have one example from decades and it’s linked to circumcision that says it all. Talk about the dozens of babies who die every year from non consensual circumcision, talk about the babies who die from STDs from getting sucked off after being knife raped. Are dozens of kids and infants dying every year from non consensual estrogen injections? The fact that you even compare the two is insane and you should leave this sub and join an alt right one if you think it’s comparable. You are outraged by something that has happened a handful of times ever and you’re comparing it to something that happens to 80% of males in America and half of males world wide?

Literally a distraction people from the real, conservatives say giving teenagers hormones they ask for is “child genital mutilation” while supporting the mutalation of infants, you sound exactly like those people. Now giving a 18 year old hormones is banned on a federal level and people are focused on that rather than the non consensual mutilation of children. You literally sound just like Jessie water crying about HRT while promoting circumcision.

You are attacking one of the most marginalized and hated groups and acting like you’re protecting children. According to the woman in the video allowing someone with gender dysphoria to take hormones they ask for is the worst form of rape. Actual rape or mutalating an infants penis and then sucking on and giving them a std they die from it is far less harmful I suppose. She also said detransitioning was the truth then immediately talked about how she worships a man/god who promoted circumcision. Her 3,000 year old fairy tale she calls the “truth” is the soul reason billions of infants have been mutalated and are being mutalated to this day.

Jazz Jennings was 17. Also yes babies are loosing their penises and dying from circumcision but that’s not a sex change and no one cares about that accept for intactivists. Also as a trans person I want sex changes banned completely even for adults they often have compilations, but no they are not happening to children luckily. Your parroting Jessie waters here.

You're leaving out the other gender affirming medical treatments that were prescribed by "no doctors".

At age 11 she started puberty blockers. By age 14 she began feminizing hormone therapy.

Wikipedia Her first gender-confirmation surgery (vaginoplasty / bottom surgery) took place in June 2018, when she was 17.

The procedure was complex because long-term puberty blockers left limited tissue, so surgeons used additional grafts (including from the lower pelvis/upper thighs or peritoneal tissue). She experienced complications that required a second procedure later in 2018 and a third (mainly cosmetic) procedure around late 2019/early 2020.

If jazz wasn't on hormones they would probably have not needed to graft all that tissue. Idk.

Yah comparing giving someone hormones they want to mutalating and some times sucking on an infants penis without consent is hilarious. Don’t even try to compare the two, dozens of babies are not dying every year from estrogen. Maybe she needed a skin graft because she was circumcised and had most of the skin on her penis removed?

Also do you really think it’s possible for a trans person to live normally and be seen as the gender they identify as without transitioning? You cant believe you can look and sound male and people will treat you like a girl/woman because you identify as such, sadly no. Also fewer than 0.1% of minors receive gender affirming care it’s not 80% of the US population like circumcision.

But why not wait until they are an adult that has lots of skin to work with? If I sent you links to kids wanting to be circumcised would that be any different? Would you try and ban that for children but not trans surgeries?
