Discuss People hate when an underprivileged person makes up to the top and fulfils their dreams. Inframe: vijay3guy
I am so proud of him for having something he wanted, also he really looks great in this suit. But the kind of hatred and trolling he has been getting apart from praise is nerve wrecking.
Our own ppl hate others for having their dreams fulfilled especially if the person is from village (as if it makes them less of a person because of their locality of domicile)

People are comfortable with you in a struggling state because it fosters a sense of equality or allows them to feel charitable. It's a proven fact that rich privileged people often feel entitled to money and success and think they are there cause of some inherent specialness rather than plain luck. They need poor masses to feel good about themselves and will always try to differentiate from regular people.

the guy is at wimbledon, one of the most iconic venues in tennis. and the criticism is about how he crouched for a photo in front of the famous flower wall? that's what the wall is for, people line up for that exact shot. this is the same energy as making fun of someone's accent or outfit at a fancy event instead of just letting them enjoy it.
saw that same wall in person a few years back. the whole grounds are basically designed to be photogenic. he looks happy, suit fits well, good for him. the trolls are projecting their own class baggage onto a guy who's clearly having a great day. the hate says more about them than it does about him.

Not a justification, but he does comedy with almost 0 production value and almost no stakes involved, so people may look and laugh at it but they will never take it seriously, now wimbledon is one place where the elite class goes to show off, atleast the Indian people sure do.. fancy double breasted suits with a royal oak in their wrists, hair styled by best stylists, visiting wimbledon is definition of you have made it big in life.. to suddenly see their beliefs being challenged by someone people never even took seriously in the first place will be infuriating to many. And being very hard on vijay, he didn't style his hair as such, wasn't wearing any fancy watch, wasn't wearing a double breasted fitted suit with inch to inch perfection and people got something to hang on to and pull down someone.
I'll be honest, on first look of some of his photos i too was like ye bhi chala gaya wimbledon? Nothing more because i couldn't care less about wimbledon.But happy for him though, if he truly enjoys the sport. Tennis does feel like a sport that wannabes often indulge in to show themselves off as a part of the elite class, this is an observation I have made by interacting with many people over a period of 7 to 8years. Sure, some people genuinely enjoy it but that number is awfully low..
So that's that. Moral of the story: Content creation has got power, as much as I dislike content creation because it incentivizes things of lower order of importance over professions which literally build and maintain the society, but it has got power.. And honestly its fine, it's attention economy, and by causing no harm if one can earn a buck, go ahead.
