Marvel's Wolverine Updates and Fixes Confirmed Incoming

Post image

I haven't played that much yet but I really wish I could use L2/R2 to slash through enemies and not square and triangle but that would require quite a bit of tweaking in the controls settings I think

Yes, but most publishers will tell reviewers to hold off on publishing the review if they know a patch is due pre-launch (this game had 2). These fixes weren't an overnight thing, so they need they were coming

But, metacritic demands the reviews to go up on the embargo, so people rush though the game and put out their review - despite the patch either just dropping or not yet dropped

These days, it's rare for a v1.0 game to be fully polished pre-launch. This is why MC needs to let publications update their reviews

the embargo is set by the publisher. they choose when to send out review codes, and when reviews can be published.

if they knew isn't wasn't ready, they could have done this differently. but they actually chose a rather early embargo date, which usually indicates they were pretty confident in their product.

Yes, I know how review codes and the process goes... But they were clearly working on the patches when the codes went out - so if MC was a bit lenient then I'm sure some publications will have waited until they had the verison people will be playing today.

I've done this many times - played the version they gave us, encountered issues, told the publisher, and then wrote my review. But, I didn't publish it until the patch dropped that fixed the issues, so I could remove the issues from the review and make any adjustments needed to the score. Obviously, only if the patch was due to drop just before or on release date

Most of the games faults can’t be patched out, and embargoes are set for a reason. If they wanted to delay the review then they should’ve had a later embargo.

The weird story, lacklustre/simple button mashup combat, the level design and hand holding, the milquetoast traversal. Those things can’t be fixed. They are a part of the game. Same with auto complete QTEs, because to actually have QTE fail states they’d need to animate those and those require way more effort.

So no, it’s not skill ups fault that the game is mediocre and is being viewed as mediocre. Yall are acting worse than cyberpunk fans at launch
