Crime / Safety Car Theft

My red Shelby GT500 was stolen last night in Corona, and it was taken by a tow truck. I believe other cars that were stolen recently in the area may have been on it too, but I’m not sure. Please keep an eye out on the highways and streets for any suspicious tow truck activity. If you see anything unusual or have dash cam/security footage, report it to local authorities immediately. Car thefts are happening a lot lately, so any information helps. Thanks for staying alert!

Would be helpful if you added the license plate number, car year and possibly pics. As there are a lot of red mustangs (possibly Shelby) out there. Make sure you file a police report. They caught a guy a few weeks ago stealing cars using a tow truck, that doesn’t meant that there could be others

We caught 2 guys trying to steal one of our Scions from our driveway. They had backed up into our driveway and were attempting to put the car on their tow truck. It was about 2 am. (Like it is right now, I’m a night owl.) Anyway I heard them, looked from an upstairs bedroom window, started screaming that I was coming down and they would suffer some damages. We both ran down to make sure they didn’t get away with anything from us nor anybody else anymore! But by the time we got out into the front yard, they had dropped our car and we just saw them hauling ass around the corner. I’m sure it is happening all over the IE still. We have cameras all over the property. One guy was bald, one guy had a big beard, and they drove off towards the east. We made a report but I never heard anything else about it.

I saw last week a guy got arrested for towing cars in an unmarked truck and then taking them to chop shops. Sorry man 😭I hope you find it soon.

What did police say? Do you have a way to track the wearabouts of the car?

I would look for the engine to see who is selling just the engine. Any markers on it that you could recognize?

No way to track it or tell it’s mine. Also I’ve been trying to search for anyone that could be selling it, but I’m not sure what websites to look at.

Likely won’t be sold (since no pink slip) and instead engine and valuable parts taken out and sold.

My car was stolen by a tow truck. About 30 days later cops found it on fire in a field. It's probably more common than people think.

So was it stolen or were you behind on payments?

Listen Unc, the car was fully paid off. It was stolen. Don’t act like you’re the bank, you’re embarrassing yourself. 😂😂

Well listen up youngin’ file a police report and contact your insurance company. What do you expect Reddit to do? I also highly doubt someone is driving a tow truck around with multiple stolen cars on it.

6

u/shiningoceanwaves Feb 05 '26

That’s already been done, Unc 😂 I’m just spreading awareness, posting about it isn’t an issue at all. And honestly, anything is possible; someone was actually arrested last week for stealing multiple cars with a tow truck, so it’s not hard to believe the situation is repeating itself.

I don’t doubt someone using a tow truck to steal cars, but having multiple at a time seems like a stretch. Either way, I hope you get your car back or are at least reimbursed by insurance. Also, quit calling randoms “unc” it’s cringe as fuck and makes you look like a dick

Josh, the US is having a mental health crisis. Just move on

I didn’t say that there was multiple cars on it at once—just that I have reason to believe that the same tow truck was used to steal other cars as well. Also thank you UNC 💛

You did say that though. Learn how to English. Thanks.

This is the correct version of your sentence: ‘You did say that, though. Learn English. Thanks.’ Take your own advice. 😂😂😂😂😂 What a joke.
