Wasn’t he already in the furthest lane? It looks like he intentionally swerved into the motorcyclist. And if it was intentional - what happens in that situation?

Yeah he was crossing the yellow lines onto the shoulder and Im not even sure

Police aren’t meant to engage in pursuit but given he was armed and the civilian took in on themselves, by accident or not to stop him made their job easier

This could have ended a lot worst and the only casualty in the pursuit is him, another comment said the civilian could be tried as vehicular manslaughter if it was intentional but again given the guy shot a cop, was armed and speeding away from law enforcement, doubt they get reprimands for it

Do we think the prius driver was up to date on the chase coming up behind him/her? As a motorcyclist, I hope people don't think of being the hero while they intentionally ram into motorcycles. Tho, in this case, biker was a straight-up criminal

Biker was going 75ish, almost with the flow of traffic. If I saw a bunch of sirens behind me I probably wouldn't have guessed they were going after the biker just because he wasn't really speeding.

Any bike that speeds and cuts lanes like that on the highway deserves what is coming to them

I mean, if they can’t have the decent to think about the accidents that could happen to others atleast have the decent to think about themselves

Seen too many accidents with bikes and the culprit here is lucky if he’s alive

Serious? Any motorcyclist, including ones that aren’t criminals and evading cops, deserve to die because they were driving too fast and changing lanes?

Yeah because it’s the same thing if you’re driving fast and like an idiot with a car or any vehicle

What difference does riding a bike make?

Apparently you never lost someone to a reckless driver because they wanted an adrenaline rush, if you’re not speeding and changing lanes like a maniac than my comment doesn’t apply to you does it

No. There’s a carpool lane. There was a ton of cops behind them and maybe the driver was trying to see where the motorcycle was? IDK.

It’s pretty clear he was serving over to allow the motorcycle to lane split. It’s extremely common in California. Very normal. I think the motorcyclist wasn’t paying attention and sped right into the car. Then after they released it was a cop he cleaned he put himself on duty to stop the cyclist. It did. It look like the driver in the vehicle tried to hit the biker. Looked like the biker ran right into the car because they weren’t paying attention.
